Courtney Simpson always had a plan for everything. She was a straight A student. She wanted to go study pharmacy. Her life was going exactly how she planned, until she met Duncan. He was the bad boy. He played hockey and didn't really care for school. Courtney met Duncan on a party. She was sitting in the far corner of the room, minding her own business, because she didn't feel comfortable. Everyone was really drunk and Courtney had to wait for her friend Bridgette to pick her up for this disastrous party. Courtney was looking on her phone when suddenly someone sat next to her. She looked up to see who it was and came across blue eyes.
"Hello gorgeous. The names' Duncan."
"My name's Courtney."
"Pleased to meet you Court."
"Don't call me Court!"
"Okay princess. So tell me something about you."
"No."
"I like you, you're feisty. I like feisty."
Suddenly Courtney's phone rang. It was time to leave. Courtney quickly gathered her things and left Duncan in the corner with a smile on his face.
When she got to the car she told Bridgette about the guy with a green Mohawk and to her surprise Bridgette knew him. He was a friend of her boyfriend Geoff.
The next day in school, when Courtney was putting away her books in her locker, someone put their hands over her eyes.
"Guess who?" said a guy with a very familiar voice.
"Leave me alone."
"Oh come one princess have a little fun."
"Don't call me princess and I know how to have fun."
"Really? Because if I remember correctly you were sitting in a corner while everybody else was having fun. Do you remember that? It was yesterday."
"Shut up." Courtney slammed the door of her locker closed.
"Calm down. Don't be so uptight."
"I'm not uptight. I'm just a little nervous."
"Why?"
"Because in 4 months we'll have to register as students on a college that we want and I'm scared that I won't be accepted." Duncan put an arm through her shoulders as they started walking.
"Don't worry. You're a good student. You'll be accepted. Speaking of the near end of school, do you have a date for the prom?"
"I hope so. No, not yet. I'll have to worry about that too."
"Well if you want, I'll dance with you."
"Do you even know how to dance?"
Duncan spun her around, so that she was before him, looking him in the eyes. He slowly began dancing the waltz and Courtney followed. Courtney leaned her head on his chest and inhaled his scent. He smelled really good. Duncan twirled her around and stopped when she stopped spinning.
"What do you know? You can dance."
"Of course, I've been taking ballroom dancing lesions for 7 years."
"That was unexpected."
"I'll see you around princess."
Duncan leaned in and lightly kissed Courtney on the lips.
It was just a kiss, but it changed everything.
