-1 Vampire at Heart

I am a vampire. Oh you don't believe me?

Well change your mind, for you will surely see,

That what I say is tried and true.

To scare you not, I'll give a clue.

To say one is a vampire does not make it so,

Only I hold the secret, and it cannot be bought for any dough.

I'll explain my situation,

to hold your fixation.

For it is my vampire charm,

that holds you from raising an alarm.

So hear me mortal and listen well,

because what I am about to say I will never sell.

I remember what it was like to be of the living,

I was kind, obedient and giving.

Not a Goth, a punk or skater,

all of that would come much later.

But I was a vampire at heart,

and I intended to play the part.

So I watched the films, I read the books

and in return I received some looks.

It mattered not, I did not care,

because if they had known, they wouldn't dare.

Nights passed and I grew worried,

I would have grown older if I had not hurried.

Luckily an epiphany came,

if it had not I would be the same.

A coffin is what I needed,

it was obvious, completed.

I would also need a spell of some kind,

but where to seek and where to find?

The internet is where I would look,

and in there I found a book;

Of the dead to be exact

and I say this as a fact.

By pure coincidence alone,

I found a vampire zone,

that offered a Transylvanian treat,

that would make my transformation complete.

In the local cemetery,

I found a coffin that needed bury.

I recited a certain curse,

And hoped I wouldn't need a hearse.

"Please let this work," I hoped and prayed.

That is when my humanity started to fade.

I fell asleep in my permanent new bed,

Not knowing what was to come, I was filled with dread.

The next night I awoke a vampire,

so do not call me a liar.

To this day, if I hear a howl

I'll be put in a mood most foul.

Blood is my catnip,

although I'll only take a sip.

And if you are wondering about the people who dared,

Lets just say that they are now impaired.
