The floor was awash in blood. Enough that it squelched beneath his feet as he walked, its tackiness pulling at his boots with each step. He turned in a slow circle, bated breath catching at the back of his throat.
The silence was deafening. So quiet was it that he could almost hear the puddles of blood creeping forward in ever expanding circles.
The fingers of the hand holding his gun trembled ever so slightly as much from adrenalin and anticipation as fear.
His brother was here somewhere. He knew it with certainty. Now he just had to find him.
