Grumbling Gregory
Have you ever grumble or moan before? I suppose you do sometimes. But I have heard of someone who grumbles all the time. And do you know who? That's right! It's Grumbling Gregory.
Gregory was a boy who likes to grumble all the time. He grumbled in the morning and night. He moaned when he slept. He even grumbled at school and wherever he goes.
One day, something strange happened to him. After he had his breakfast, Gregory took a walk down a long dusty road. As he walked, he grumbled to himself, "Today is another start of a terrible day."
Soon, he met a wizard who appeared from nowhere. "Bah. I hate wizards," grumbled Gregory as he pushed the wizard out of his way.
"Well. I dislike people who are constantly moaning and grumbling," said the wizard. "And do you know what I do to people who grumble?" "What is it?" asked Gregory. "I teach them a lesson by turning them into little pigs!"
Then, the wizard disappeared in a puff of smoke, leaving behind a very piggy looking Grumbling pig. Gregory was frightened that he might remain a pig for the rest of his life.
Luckily, he was able to transform back to his own self after five minutes.
Gregory soon happened to pass by Sunshine Sally's house. Sally opened the door and said, "Hey Gregory! Why don't you come in? I am having a party." Gregory came in grumpily.
In the party, the guests who were present include Tickling Timmy, Funny Fred, Brainy Bella, Happy Harry and Strong Stephen. Everyone were happy and dancing along to loud music. They were having a great time partying.
"Bah!" groaned Gregory. "I hate people dancing and enjoying themselves. Suddenly, the wizard appeared once again.
"Well," said the wizard. "I think the first lesson wasn't enough. If I were to teach you to stop grumbling, moaning and groaning, I will have to turn you into a big pig!"
Gregory did not like it one bit. Sunshine Sally and her guests, however found it very humorous.
"Please!" begged Gregory to the wizard. "Please turn me back to my normal self! I promise I will never grumble, moan or groan again!"
The wizard took pity of him and changed Gregory back to his normal self. Then, the wizard vanished away.
Then, Sunshine Sally jumped on the table and pretended to be a clown. Gregory was not amused. "Bah!" he snorted. "I can't stand people who jump on tables and pretend to be clowns."
And do you know what happened next? That's right! Grumbling Gregory had turned into an enormous pig!
The pig whose face was flushing red with embarrassment! "Oink!" wailed Gregory mournfully. Then, the enormous red faced pig made a solemn promise. "Never again will I grumble, snort, groan or moan!"
"Good," said the wizard as he waved his magic wand and disappeared once again. And Grumbling Gregory changed back to his own self. Well, not exactly his own self. He was grinning a big smile on his face! Imagine that?
Later, Gregory returned to his house. Feeling tired after an exhausting day, he went straight to bed.
He slept the whole night without grumbling, snorting, groaning and moaning.
But not without Snoring!
