The idea just came to me in the car ride to school and I had to write it! Let me know about the title though, I couldn't think of anything so any suggestions would be much appreciated :)

The bright lights danced around them in the dusk and the music was faint under the screaming, laughing and conversations that surrounded them. Jack held tight onto Emily's right hand and Aaron's left. He looked up to his Daddy and happily let out "Swing me again Daddy!"

"Alright buddy, hold on tight." Jack tightened his grip more and Aaron looked at Emily as she nodded. "One…two…three!" They swung their arms and the little boy was lifted off the ground, giggling heavily. Aaron shifted his gaze from Jack to see the warmth and love in Emily's eyes and he smiled further.

"Look Jack! It's an elephant!" Emily pointed out the massive animal behind a fence nearby and Jack ran ahead, pulling Emily and Aaron along. Jack stopped right in front of the elephant and he looked straight up along its trunk. His face was full of amazement as he let out a quiet "woe". As any five year old, his attention span was incredibly short and he spotted a cart covered in pink and blue fluff.

"Cotton candy! Emmy, can we get some? Please!" Jack unleashed his puppy eyes and tugged on her arm. She looked at Aaron and he gave a small nod. "Sure, let's go." Jack cheered and once again rushed ahead while pulling Aaron and Emily along.

Emily kneeled down level to Jack and asked "What colour do you want, little man?"

Jack continued to beam and yelled out "Blue!" Emily picked him up and began tickling him before resting him onto her hip. Aaron picked out three cotton candies and once he handed a blue one to Jack, he buried his face into it. The couple chucked and when Jack pulled his head out, he had blue sugar plastered all over his confused face. Emily snatched some napkins and gently rubbed the little boy's face as he kept his eyes scrunched.

Four napkins later, they were off again with Jack pulling them towards a clown making balloon animals.

The clown honked his nose and swiftly made two hats and swords for Jack and Aaron and a flower hat for Emily. Before Aaron knew what was going on, Jack and Emily had taken the hats and swords and Emily placed the flower hat onto his head. The flower bobbed down and poked his nose, causing laughter from Jack and Emily. Emily and Jack became engrossed in their sword fight and Jack used his height to his advantage. He ducked and got Emily straight in the stomach with his sword. She clutched her stomach and smiled as she pretended to fall and die.

Jack became worried when she didn't get up right away. He bent down beside her and poked her cheek. She opened her eyes and picked him up again into another tickle attack. Aaron swooped in and tickled Emily and Jack helped him gang up on her.

She yelped between laughs "Uncle! Uncle!"

Aaron picked up Jack and helped Emily up. Jack let out a yawn and snuggled his head into his father's shoulder. They made their way towards their car and Emily slipped into the driver's seat while Aaron gently settled Jack into his seat before he got into the passenger's side. Emily and Aaron looked at each other smiled sweetly and kissed. They're smiles remained as they pulled out of the carnival parking lot.

There, just a little thing. I've been so obsessed with writing Gateway that I forgot about this :P
