Demon With An Angel's Heart

He was a demon on the exterior. He was a demon to all those who had ever got caught in the crossfire of his battles, and to those who opposed him on his path.

To me, the person I was way back in the past, he was a demon of the worst kind. The kind that could kill anyone that stood in his way, kin or kith, without blinking, much less feeling any guilt or remorse for his actions.

But he wasn't a demon to me now. Not ever again.

The demon that had been haunting me for all this years, was actually just a disguise, an illusion, he wanted me to believe that he was.

And I had been the usual me, the foolish little brother to believe all of that. To believe his lies, to believe that he had slaughtered our entire clan to test his capacity, to believe that he was never the caring, compassionate brother he was.

I was foolish to believe all that. Just as I am to believe that he had only left me alive to suffer, to be taunted by him all my life, to be the ultimate vessel used as a setting stone for his path of power.

I wasted my entire life on vengeance, vengeance on my brother, who was used and trampled on as a pawn for a battle of power struggle.

My innocent older brother who was a pacifist, who did all of that for peace, and most of all, for me. To save me from the clutches of death, to let me be able to continue on this useless path called life.

To let me become stronger by trampling on him, the very same person who wanted me to return as a hero. To be worshiped by those pathetic people who were the cause of the sacrificial of my clan, and most of all the sacrificial of my brother.

On the exterior he seemed to be a demon. All of this was an act, however, and though I hate to admit it, a pretty good one at that.

On the inside, however, he was the exact opposite. He had an angel's heart.

A demon with an angel's heart, to me, he was.

It was only now that I had found out. After the truth behind the mysterious, ever elusive man, had been revealed to me.
