Summary: Kuroko meets Kagami again for the first time in 5 years. Maybe he'll be able to relieve himself of his one regret.
One Regret
It's been 5 years since Kuroko last saw Kagami Taiga. Back in high school, they were close, close enough to be called a stupid couple. And by all means, Kuroko wanted them to be. Kuroko had been in love with Kagami even though he never admitted it. So when they graduated, Kuroko felt like he should have said something to keep them together but he didn't. Now at the age of 23, that one regret weighed heavily on his mind.
They had finally met again at the park where they used to play basketball together. It was merely coincidence since Kuroko had long stopped visiting the park because of all the now painful memories. The red-headed boy looked more mature, but other than that nothing had changed.
"Kuroko?"
The blue-haired boy blinked a few times with his blank expression.
"Hello Kagami-kun."
Kagami chuckled.
"You haven't changed at all. You still speak so politely with that expressionless face."
Kuroko gave a small smile.
"You're still a bakagami."
"What was that?!"
Kagami began chasing Kuroko around the court. Laughing and tickling ensued. It was as if no time had passed between then and now. Kuroko felt like crying, why hadn't he said something back then? Why didn't Kagami ever call him? Was it really this simple? Kuroko halted and Kagami crashed into him grabbing on to his smaller body and allowing himself to end up with his back on the cement.
"Ow…"
Kagami groaned in pain. Kuroko was looking down at him with mixed emotions. Would it be strange to tell him now? It's been so long… Kuroko blinked. Kagami was staring at him with a strange look in his eyes and Kuroko felt his breath hitch.
"Kagami-kun…"
And all of a sudden there was a large hand on the back of his head and his lips were pressed against Kagami's. Kuroko felt his eyes close slowly as Kagami kissed him deeply. When Kagami pulled back, he held Kuroko's body tightly against his chest.
"I've always wanted to do that."
Kagami strokes Kuroko's hair with a smile. Kuroko feels warm and he just absolutely had to tell Kagami how he was feeling right now. He didn't want to have that one regret any longer.
"Kagami-kun, I love you."
To anybody else, the confession would have seemed strange and emotionless, but to Kagami it was perfect. Kuroko's eyes were shiny and his usually pale cheeks were tinted pink. Kagami's smile widened.
"It took you long enough. I love you too."
Kuroko felt warmth spread throughout his body. He was trembling from sheer happiness. He had been waiting for this for what seemed like forever. Oh well, he thought, better late then never.
