Here's a song fiction. This is in the Doctor's point of view. Spin off of The Boxer by Mumford and Sons.

I am just a Time Lord,

Though my story's seldom told,

I have squandered my resistance,

For a pocketful of wonders,

Such are promises,

All lies and jest,

Still the man hears what he needs to hear,

And disregards the rest,

When I left my planet and my people,

I was no more than thief,

In the company of humans,

In the quiet of the TARDIS whooshing,

Running far,

Laying low, seeking out a companion,

Where the dangerous people go,

Looking for the aliens, no one knows,

Asking only certain people,

I come looking for travel,

And I get some offers,

Just a human searching for love,

But I do declare, there were times when I was so lonesome,

I took some comfort there,

Then I'm laying out my TARDIS keys,

And wishing I could stay,

Saving Earth,

Where the aliens come and go to war,

Fighting on, saving Earth,

In the clearing stands a Time Lord,

And a companion by his side,

He carries the reminders,

Of every war the passed him by,

Or killed him to regenerate,

In his anger and his sorrow,

"I don't want to go, no…"

But the Doctor still remains
