One day in Skyclan, Shadekit was reflecting on her past life. It all seemed so close, but also so far...
Shade woke up next to her sister, Blue. Blue was grooming her gray-blue fur when she looked over at her sister with hypnotic green eyes.
"Hello, Shade," Blue said.
"Hey."
"Should I go hunt?" Blue asked. Shade nodded.
Blue went out into the forest. She smelled mouse! Instinctively dropping down into a crouch, she walked up towards it.
"Got ya!" she whispered, pouncing on the mouse.
All of a sudden, she heard a quiet call. Dropping the mouse, she raced back to her sister.
"Are you alright?" she mewed.
"No. A Twoleg is out to get us." Blue gasped.
"Really?" Shade nodded.
Suddenly, they were captured by a Twoleg!
"Huh?" Blue exclaimed. She was tossed into a cage with Shade without any airholes.
"Don't speak," Blue told her sister. "You'll survive for longer."
Shade followed what her sister said, never speaking at all.
They were rescued 5 moons later, and entered Skyclan...
Back in Skyclan camp, Shade, now Shadekit, curled up into her nest. After not speaking for 5 moons, she forgot how. She was silent. Tomorrow was her apprentice ceremony, and if she couldn't speak... Shadekit dared not to think of it. Shadekit went to sleep, hoping the day would pass
The next day, Leafstar yowled, "Let all old enough to catch prey gather beneath the Skyrock for a Clan meeting!" The warriors and the rest came.
"Shadekit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Shadepaw. Your mentor will be Rockshade I hope Rockshade will pass down all he/she knows on to you. Rockshade, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You had received excellent training from Cherrytail, and you have shown yourself to be kind and brave. You will be the mentor of Shadepaw, and I expect you to pass on all you know to her."
Shadepaw padded up to her new mentor and touched noses with him.
"Trust me, you'll be fine," he mewed to her.
Shadepaw smiled.
"Come on, Shadepaw!" Birdpaw raced over to the new apprentice. "You need to make a nest!"
Shadepaw nodded, understanding what she needed to do.
"Aren't you going to say anything?" Birdpaw asked.
"Birdpaw, stop bothering Shadepaw," Egg meowed to the apprentice.
"Sorry," Birdpaw mewed.
Shadepaw nodded.
LATER...
Shadepaw was making her new nest, when Blueberry walked in.
"Hey sis," Blueberry meowed.
Shadepaw nodded.
"You don't have to live in silence! Please speak to me!"
Shadepaw moved her mouth to speak, but no sound came out.
"Oh no," Blueberry whispered. "Are you faking this?" Shadepaw quickly moved her head back and forth.
Blueberry picked her sister up by the scruff and raced over to the medicine cat den.
"Echosong?" she called.
"Yes?" The medicine cat padded out of the shadows.
"There's something wrong with Shadepaw."
Echosong looked all over the apprentice, but didn't see anything wrong.
"What's wrong?"
"Shadepaw, say 'Hi' to Echosong," Blueberry told her sister. Shadepaw did as she was told, but no noise came out.
Echosong looked at Blueberry. "There's nothing I can do."

I know, I know. It's sad. BUT! I will post another story with those two, and it will be better.
