She and He
By Luna Longbottom
She had long, dark hair which strikingly contrasted her pale skin. Her dark eyes bore into anyone who dared approach her. A single glance at anyone, male or female, would leave them breathless. When she talked to Him, her eyes would dance playfully and mischievously in a flirtatious manner. However, everyone but He could easily see the focus and concentration that lay below. As she walked down the corridor, the hem of her deep, rich purple gown would sweep across the floor making it seem as if she were floating. The gown was cut so the only skin visible was her pale hands, neck, and face. It seemed to dare people to question her modesty and purity. She had long, delicate fingers, one of which bore a fancy ring, but the way she wore it said she didn't value it very much. Her simile, at first glance was that of a shy, unsure girl. On closer inspection however, it proved to be one of an intelligent, confident, ambitious woman, a woman who knew exactly what she wanted and how to get it. When she walked down the hallway, her presence radiated confidence. Of course, her outward appearance would never show her shattered inner self. No one ever knew how she trembled when ever He looked at her. No one ever knew how she hated it when He looked at her. No one ever knew how much she wanted to scream every time His cold, lustful hands touched her delicate skin. No one ever knew how exhausted she was at the end of the day from keeping up this front. But she would do anything for Power. It was the one thing keeping her alive, and at the same time, it was killing her. Power was her strength and her weakness but she would never let anyone know it, least of all, Him.
A/N: I didn't want to put this at the beginning of the story for fear of spoiling it. When I wrote this little ficlet, I actually had two people in mind, Bella from HP and Anne from The Other Boleyn Girl. For those of you who don't know, Anne was the second wife of King Henry VIII of England. She did everything in her power to get Henry to divorce his first wife and make him marry her. She eventually succeeded after many long years. When I was reading The Other Boleyn Girl, I was amazed by how much Anne reminded me of Bella. I picture them both as very ambitious and willing to do whatever it takes to get more power. I like the idea that Bella may have been sleeping with the Dark Lord in order to gain more power. (In case you haven't guessed the He in the story is the Dark Lord). If you have time, I would suggest reading the ficlet again after reading this. I would love to hear any feedback about this story.
