A/N: I really liked them the first time I saw them together. I think there is a lot of missing scene material between the two. I mean the guy was infuriated with her... him telling on her just couldn't be the end...

He watched the flames lick at the outer walls of the church and his guilt over everything multiplied ten times.
He should have saved her... he should have saved her before anything happened... before the monsters turned his fair Miss Pearl into one of them.
But he wasn't there, and he couldn't save her. And now the woman he had loved with a young and carefree heart was burning in the church just like all other demons in her company.
She would never know that he had intended to make her his wife the day after the raid. She would never know that he had been willing to even take in her daughter and give her his name, so that they'd be a family.
As he watched the church with the vampires' burn, a tear escaped his eye and rolled down his cheek. When asked he would later on claim that the heat of the fire hurt his eyes.
