This probably just goes to show a portion of the strange things my brain comes up with...
Disclaimer: I don't own Merlin
Introduction to the course
Arthur sat proudly in his throne, staring out at the multitude of Knights sitting on the block of wooden chairs arranged before him. Merlin stood off to the Blond's right, no doubt doing something useless. As usual. Pulling himself to his feet, the young King made to address his expectant audience.
"Alright men, I suppose you are all aware of exactly why I have gathered you all here today-"
"Not a chance!" Came the inevitable shout from the back of the room. Arthur narrowed his eyes at Gwaine. He should have known that idiot would take the chance to flaunt his infuriating nature.
"In that case, for the sake of those of you too foolish to keep an eye on the Knightly Notice Board, I shall have to explain." The notice board in question was a rather new addition to the castle, and was in fact one of a series. There was a servants' notice board, a Nobles' notice board, and even a notice board for sorcerers (although that one, rather unsurprisingly, remained blank apart from a copy of the law regarding sorcery).
Arthur cast an appraising glance around the room, happy to see that Gwaine was the only one to be shifting nervously regarding his lapse in attention to duty.
"In light of recent events," here he held back a cringe- the reasons behind his father's death still proving a bit of a soft spot, "I have come to the conclusion that further training is in order. We have grown lazy. And unobservant. And, as such, I present to you the first, and definitely most urgent, in a series of seminars."
At his indication, Merlin unrolled the scroll he held in his grasp, before holding it up for all to see the words upon it. Arthur eyed the lettering with a touch of pride. All those hours spent practising calligraphy over the past few weeks had really paid off. He turned back to his Knights, speaking out the words written there on behalf of those nearer to the back of the room.
"How to spot a sorcerer!"
Oh yes. I went there. And fear not, later chapters will be longer. This shouldn't prove to be a very long fic, but any suggestions for How to spot's are more than welcome- I only have sorcerers and traitors in my repertoire so far.
