Hey guys! I am really not used to write McHastings but I did it for all McHastings fans! Let me know what you think. Love you.
Spencer Hastings was sat on a couch in the Brew that cold afternoon when everything would change… That afternoon when the pain started to fade away as she got to meet the most incredible person on earth… well… she knew her, but… she hadn't gotten the time to listen to her and let herself fall fast and deep. But she would… she absolutely would… and she was not going to take it back ever… Not even if it would not last forever.
A book rested against the palm of her hands and the smell of the coffee in front of her filled her. She had read for hours to keep her mind away from that person who back then was filling her every thought; Toby Cavanaugh. She was feeling completely worthless. She felt empty. She needed him. She loved him. She hated him. She was mourning over her loneliness. She missed him. She felt she was nothing without him but she tried to ignore it. Ignore the feels. Ignore the pain.
Spencer heard the door shutting and turned her head curiously. Her eyes opened wide as she recognized the person who had just entered the brew and a smile tugged on her lips as Paige McCullers made her way toward the counter. Spencer closed her book and stood up abruptly before making her way towards the other girl.
"Paige?" She said and made her turn around.
Paige offered a genuine smile to the girl that had just popped the bubble she had been in for so long after she realized who the person who had made her way toward her was. "Hastings," She teased. "It has been long, hasn't it, Spence?" She walked closer and pulled her in for a hug.
Spencer stared at the other girl for a while and looked directly at her eyes nodding. "Perhaps it has been, McCullers." She said with a smile she had not shown to anyone since Toby left. "What are you up to?"
Paige smiled. "I'm up to… a coffee and… an old friend." She said, taking a cup that was over the counter and placing some money over the last.
"Shall we?" Spencer asked pointing at the couch she had been seating in.
Paige looked at it and shook her head with a smile that felt strange on her then making her way and seating down. That was the last chance they had to change the story that was not going to have a happy ending anyway. There, just looking at each other's eyes, talking, laughing, just letting it be; it is what it is... At least for a while, that would do until their hearts could shatter into even more pieces.
