Summary: Nothing to do with the book or the movie… I just thought the title was kinda nice. Cagalli and Athrun take a walk one night together with a little thing they call a wedding ring :)
A walk to remember
"Athrun!", Cagalli asked in surprise. Cagalli stood there, outside her front door staring at her blue-haired friend. I meant, her blue-haired boyfriend. Not boy friend. Boyfriend. For two years now actually.
"Uhm…well…", Athrun started, "would you… like to go on a walk with me?"
Cagalli blinked a few times before smiling at him then nodding. "Sure", she replied," I'll just get my coat."
Cagalli grabbed her brown trench coat then followed Athrun outside. It was not long before they reached the park. Cagalli glanced a look over at her… boyfriend, who, she noticed, had been avoiding eye contact with her the whole night. She walked over to the swing and sat down, staring to rock gently back and forth.
Cagalli looked at Athrun and smiled. Athrun smiled back then took the swing next to hers.
"Sooo… what did you really bring me out here for?" Cagalli asked suspiciously.
Athrun gazed at the ground, smiling. He then got up and stood in a position where in he and Cagalli were face-to-face, and kneeled down on one leg.
Cagalli stared at him, confused. Soon after, Athrun reached into his pocket and took out a small black box. Cagalli covered her mouth in surprise as her eyes started to fill up with tears.

"Cagalli… before we met, I was a complete wreck. I had always kept my feelings inside, not wanting to be close to anyone. I was a coward who would always do what my superiors told me to. I was miserable."
I'll get your medicine when your tummy aches.
Build you a fire if the furnace breaks
Oh it could be so nice, growing old with you
"But then you came along, and my whole world just turned upside down… and I started feeling things I never thought I would." Athrun paused for a moment, using his free hand to wipe a tear that fell down Cagalli's cheek, then after, cupping it.
He continued, staring at Cagalli's eyes. "You make me so…so happy. And I wish you would give me a chance to make you as happy as well."
I'll miss you
I'll kiss you
I'll give you my coat when you are cold
"I love you so, so much Cagalli."
He opened the small box and inside lay the most beautiful ring Cagalli had ever seen. It's jewel shined in chorus with the stars.
I'll need you
I'll feed you
I'll even let you hold the remote control.
"Will you marry me?"
Cagalli smiled, tears running down her face, only to be caught by Athrun's supporting hand. She lifted her hand, clasping his in hers, pushing it harder against her skin.
"Yes." She cried, "Yes!" She repeated happily.
So let me do the dishes in our kitchen sink,
Put you to bed if you've had too much to drink
He smiled happily back, taking her left hand, getting the ring then placing it in her finger.

I wanna grow old with you
She pounced on him, causing them to roll down the hillside. They stopped, Cagalli on top of Athrun.
"Just being with you already makes me the happiest girl in the world.", She whispered before bending down and kissing him.
I wanna grow old with you
That walk was a walk to remember.
