He sits in Elysium, waiting. He didn't want to be reborn. He wanted her. Spending hours in the beautiful bright light, he continues his life's work: creating, inventing. He's been waiting to see her again. He knows she's coming soon. She promised.
The day has come. He jolts awake from his dozing, he has seen the vision. He saw her take her final, heroic breath. She's coming.
He rushes to the gate; not being able to control his excitement over her arrival.
As she takes her last breath, all of a sudden the pain is gone. She basks in a refreshing ray of light, then everything goes black. She opens her eyes again and is in a waiting room of some sort. A menacing tall, dark man walks up and grimaces, "You have already been paid for, please follow me."
Her transparent, light body glides onto a boat. She begins to take in her surroundings. An acid green river that seems to stretch on for forever, but other than that all she sees is dark rock and other incandescent figures. Swiftly, the boat moves smoothly down into the unknown.
As they reach the gates, one illuminating figure stands out. Her senses, as well as her memory, all of sudden come back to her. She knows this figure, and she's been waiting for him.
His crooked, toothy grin meets her graceful, perfected smile.
Her soft, manicured hands grab his rough, hardworking ones.
Hazel eyes lock with ice blue ones.
Silena Beauregard and Charles Beckendorf walk hand in hand to Elysium at last.
"I've finally got you," he whispers in her ear.
"For good?" she questions hopefully.
"For eternity," he says as he wraps his arms around her.
