Lies, Lies, Lies

Tears poured down Namine's face, Larxene was a nasty little witch, well not a witch but still nasty.

"You should just keep your mouth shut. Got it memorized?" Axel walked into the room. Most of the time Axel would just ignore her, but from time to time, when they were alone, they would talk. Namine decided to take Axel's advice and keep quit.

"Not talking huh? Hmm, well Roxas got in trouble again" Axel turned to Namine and smiled "Larxene lost it and slapped him across the face!"

"Larxene's a bit-" Axel placed a finger over her lips.

"That's the kind of comments that get you in trouble" Axel explained "Got it memorized?" Namine nodded and returned to her drawing

Axel snatched the sketchpad from Namine "You're taking a break"

"But I'll-I'll" Namine stuttered as she choked back tears.

"I'll take the blame" Axel replied "They'll just think I'm messing around"

"But why!?" Namine exclaimed.

"Because… Because I said so!" Axel replied "Can I look?" He pointed to her sketchpad. She shook her head. "Why not!? You can trust me! I won't tell anyone!" Axel pleaded.

"Fine" Namine whispered. Most of the time the other members wouldn't ask.

"Hey, Namine, you know you can trust me right? I'm not cruel like the rest of them, I care" Axel said "Got it memorized?"

"Lies, lies, lies" Namine whispered.

"You're right Namine that was a bunch of lies"Axel's voice became ice cold "We nobodies are a bunch of lies! I'm a lie; Xemnas is a lie, even Roxas. And guess what? You're a lie too!"

"I'm not a lie!" Namine screamed.

"Then what do you call this?" Axel through the sketchpad at her "It's all a lie. You forced you way into Sora's memories, everything about you is a lie!"

Now Namine knew what Axel had meant. He meant, tell them what they wanted to hear, be their slaved and she'd be safe. But Namine did want that, she didn't want to be an obedient dog that fallows them at their heels.

Tears came again. What if Axel hit her like the rest of them? He never did before, but he never talk to her like this before. Well that wasn't completely true, he did treat her different when Larxene or Marluxia was around, but that was only to fool them. He never was like this when they were alone. She understood now, it was simple; Axel wanted her trust and didn't get it.

"Just because I didn't believe you cared, that doesn't mean I don't trust you" Namine lied.

"Lies, lies, lies. Don't lie to me Namine" Axel's voice was still cold "Got it memorized?"

"Yes I've got it memorized" Namine felt relieved. The fact he had said 'Got it memorized?' meant that he had begun to forgive her. "You know I trust you a bit, or at least more than the rest of the organization"

"I guess that's true" Axel smiled, his voice kind again "That's good to hear"

"Do you 'got it memorized'?" Namine asked tapping her finger on her head.

"Yep" Axel replied tapping his finger on his own head now. Namine giggled, Axel smiled. This was Namine liked about Axel; she could be her self and not get in trouble. So maybe, just maybe, he really did care.

"I've got to go Namine, sorry" Axel head to the door. Namine shook her head. He wasn't sorry, but at least he pretended he was. Maybe what he wanted was for her to pretend too.
