Oh dear it's raining again! That's all it has been doing lately, rain, rain, rain! Oh well, I guess we need it after that horrible drought we had. Still we have nought an Abbot or Abbess, Badgermum, or Warrior. Even so, life at Redwall is continuing. We have the spirit of Martin the Warrior watching over us, and if there were danger he would help. Oh, it is quite cold in here. I'm sitting in the gatehouse. It's a bit chilly. I just heard the bells tolling. Dinner time. Don't want to be late do we?
Brother Harter but down the pen and listened to the bells tolling in the evening. He was Redwall's recorder, and loved the job. He was an old man
though, and soon would be training an apprentice. He peered out the door of the Gatehouse and was blasted by rain. How would he ever get to the
Abbey? He sighed, walked out of the gatehouse, and almost got blown away. He managed to get into the Abbey, but was completely drenched. He
heard the sounds of talking and laughter from Cavern Hole, and found the Redwallers eating there. He hurried in, but was met by Sister Leeley, the
kind and gentle Infirmary Keeper. The young girl looked at the drenched Recorder. "Oh, Brother Harter, your soaked!" she exclaimed and started
busying herself by drying the older man off. "Oh, well I had to walk back from the Gatehouse, got a bit yes, hm, oh Sister do stop drying me. I can
do it myself." said Brother Harter. Sister Leely nodded and returned to the dinner table. Brother Harter dried himself off and then joined too, sitting
next to Foremole Bracksill and a young girl named Kim. Foremole Bracksill turned to face Brother Harter. He was a young man, about 21 years old.
"Hello, Sir, did you hear about the meeting?" he asked. "Huh? What meeting?!" asked Brother Harter. "Well the Council of Elders had a meeting,
probably while you were napping, to discuss the vermin we saw out in Mossflower." explained Bracksill. "Vermin?" asked Brother Harter. Bracksill
nodded. "Skipper and his crew were out in Mossflower Woods, spotted some vermin camps." "Well what if they attack? We have no Abbey Warrior!"
exclaimed Brother Harter. "Martin is watching us. If we need a warrior, then a warrior we shall get. We must be patient." replied Foremole Bracksill.
