"You should totally skip fourth. Just sayin'." Said Derek casually.

"I dunno, should I?" Casey said nervously.

"Well, you really shouldn't, but you should do it anyway." Derek said with a close lipped smile.

"Alright, okay, where should we go? The mall?"

"Sure." Derek said with a smile.

Derek didn't care where they went, as long as he got to spend time with Casey, he was good to go.

As they both headed towards the door, Derek couldn't help but notice how truly beautiful Casey was looking today. But he wouldn't dare tell her that. He was too scared to.

As they walked to the mall they talked about all sorts of things. Books, movies, how school was going, that sort of thing. Derek loved it. He loved talking to Casey. It didn't matter what it was about, just as long as he was talking to her.

Derek would always talk to Casey about Emma. Emma was his current girlfriend of the week. Casey could tell he was just in for the sex. It didn't seem to bother her however.

He would always say how he wanted out – How he couldn't take all the drama that was coming from the relationship.

Casey would always talk to Derek about Max – Her boyfriend. Casey abd Max would fight a lot, and it pained Derek knowing that she goes through so much with Max, and she would give anything for him, and he just doesn't seem to care. He spits it back in her face.

The two arrived at the mall after the long walk.

"Oooh gosh. We need to find somewhere to sit." Casey said to Derek.

"Yeah, I know, my feet hurt." Derek replied.

"Hey! There's a spot right there." Casey said as she pointed towards a bench next to a pretty green plant. It's a shame it was fake. Oh well.

As the two sat, Casey and Derek let out a simultaneous sigh of relaxation.

A few minutes passed and Casey had been talking about the fight that her and Max had last night.

Derek assured her everything would be okay, and said that Max was stupid anyway. She thanked him, and there was a moment of silence. Casey let out a groan.

"What?" Derek said curiously.

"Thinking too much." Casey replied.

"Thinking about what?" Derek asked.

"…Do you ever wish you could tell someone something, without worrying what they would think or do?" Casey said quietly.

Derek froze. He stared right into Casey's beautiful blue eyes. He knew the exact feeling. Day after day he wanted to confess his feelings towards Casey, but alas, he had no courage. He was too scared of what she would think or do.

"I know the exact feeling. I think about it everyday." He replied softly.

"Everyday?" Casey questioned.

"Well, maybe not everyday, but most of the time." Derek replied back smoothly.

He went home that night, holding onto the question she had asked. He still asks himself that exact question to this day.
