So much had happened since that day looking back now it seemed like a
life time had passed. Luke turned looking down at the person laying
beside him and smiled he still couldn't believe that after the whole
mess he made with Noah would lead him here to this place with the
person he intended to spend the rest of his life with. There had been
a time when he resisted against the feelings that now consume him. The
hurt had been too deep for him to grasp what was actually standing
right in front of him in fact it took him almost losing the most
important person for Luke to completely understand.
Luke moved slightly in the bed hoping not to wake him, he'd had such a
long night and he needed his sleep. Luke knew he needed to get up and
get ready for work, he had a ton that he needed to do at the
foundation but he just could make himself get up. They hadn't seen
each other in two day except in sleep and he missed his lover. He ran
his fingers gently though his hair just needed to reach out and touch
him if only for a few minutes.
The man beside him rolled over running his hand across the bed
searching for Luke's body. Luke smiled again and moved closer to the
man he loved and wrapped his arms around him and whispered into his
ear "I'm sorry baby I just needed to feel close to you. I've missed
you." the other man brought Luke even closer and put his lips against
Luke's ear "I've missed you to, I love you." he then placed his lips
on top of Luke's and kissed him passionately for the first time in days.
Luke didn't leave for the foundation for another two hours.
Later that day when Luke had finally made it to the office he thought
back over the last couple of days and of the memories of Noah and him
and realized that some of the most beautiful moments that they spent
together while still beautiful but slowly the memories morphed and
became something of a distant memory Luke thought of a relatively new
memory that brought a huge smile to his face. The minister was
standing before them asking them if they were ready to committed their
lives together for eternity and with tears in his eye's Luke smiled at
the man he so dearly loved and pledged to love him every day of forever
they then exchanged rings, after the ceremony was over the minister
present the couple to the attendance. A knock on the door pulled Luke
back to the present and when he looked up to see the man he was just
dreaming about.
"What were you thinking you looked pretty gone when I opened the door."?
"I was thinking about our wedding day, how amazing it was and how
lucky I am to have you." Luke got up from behind his desk and walked
to stand in front of his husband. He placed his arms around him and
snuggled into the man's chest.
"That was my favorite day... Of my whole life." he kissed Luke with a
determination to show him that that was the truth.
"Mine too, I love you Reid forever and for always." Reid who only a
handful of times since they started their lives together was choked up
when he finally answered.
"Forever is all I ask." From that seconded on Noah was placed firmly in
the past and the two men remaining only thought of their future and
what was in store for them.
