Everyone has that preconceived notion that when death finally comes upon someone that their last thoughts will hold great theological meaning. Revelations will sprout to the mind that only can come when death hands are at your throat but this is not often the case.
When Roxas looked up at the strange cocoon like structure that held his other he knew the closest thing to death that could happen to a Nobody like him was almost upon him. His worn blue eyes looked up at the stranger that was about to take everything he had ever known away from him and he just felt…tired.
One could only be told they were not meant to exist before they actually started to believe it. The big breaking point had come when the fight with Axel had happened. Even though he knew that his friend had had no choice in the matter it didn't stop the slow burning of betrayal simmer deep in his stomach. The words they had spoken to one another had been sincere though and Roxas knew he would hold onto the thought that they might be able to find each other again with what little remained of him.
He felt the world start to recede around him as whatever pulled him back to his other started to finish its work. Either it was Naminé or just fate, he didn't know, all he did know was that his world was ending and yet all he could think about was something stupid, almost trivial compared to what was happening to him. And yet it wouldn't leave his mind.
Even as he spoke a simple sentence to this stranger his "heart" wasn't really into it. The white room was almost gone now and was replaced with darkness.
And almost like a gigantic slap to the face Sora remained floating before him blissfully unaware the havoc that had been wrecked as he slumbered.
Roxas' vision wasn't almost gone now but the same thought remained, "I wonder if he ever got that free ice-cream?"
Stupid drabble is stupid but it was a nice exercise to get the brain flowing and I liked it enough to publish on here.
