It was a slightly overcast Afternoon in Ponyville,and a certan Pegasus Pony was wisping thrue the sky clearing the clouds at remarkable speed...in a manner of mere seconds the sky was davoid of clouds.

" 7.3 seconds..." Twilight said in amzement as she stopped her watch. "Rainbow Dash that was Incredible! You broke last weaks record by almost 3 seconds!"

"Yeah,well It whould have been more,if it wasent for the cramp in my wing." Rainbow dash gave a Smug smile. "By the time this year's Best Flyers competition arrives,My moves will be so awsome Il become a Wonderbolt for sure." She Grinned. "I can see it all now,the crowds will be cheering for me,I bet even Celestia will be inpressed."

Twilight shook her head and sighed. "Don't you think your getting a little ahead of yourself? I mean,the Competition isint even until later on this summer." She pointed out to witch Rainbow Dash just cocked her brow. "Look who's Talking miss 'alwase stay ahead of schedual'." Rainbow said as she started laughing, Twilight couldent help but laugh a bit herself. "I know I know...but i'm just saying, you tend to get a little..well..overconfident in your abilities." "Huh? And what's that supost to mean?" Rainbow glared slightly at Twilight "Are you saying im not good enof?".

"No im not saying that at all...Your an amazing flyer,but you arent the ONLY amazing flyer,Rainbow you can't underestimate others." *Hmph* Rainbow just rolled her eyes. "No offence Twilight...but i don't expect you to understand Competition,much less flying." Rainbow dash replied shaking her head. "youl see...il knock em dead,no doubt." "To be the best,ive gotta think like the best...Il prove my self to be the best flyer in all of Equestria,You wait and see!"

As the two talked,little did they know they where being watched by a hooded figure peering out from an allyway. "Well wel just see how worthy you truly are little pegasus" the figure softly spoke before disapearing into the shadows.

that evening Rainbow Dash returned to her home in the clouds after a long day of stunts and arial acrobatics. As she walked inside,she looked down and noticed an envelope siting on the floor under the mailslot. "That's weird...the mail already went this afternoon...and i didint get eny letters." She picked it up and glanced at it...there was no name of who sent it,but it was clearly addressed to her. In her curiosity,she opened it up and un folded it,and proceeded to read what it said.

*Dear Rainbow Dash:

I Have Observed you Quite alot recently and i have rather taken an interest in your flying abilities...and whould like to offer you an oppertunity to proove yourself... *Ranbow dash had bearly started reading and already her interest was won over by the mysterious letter...she continued reading...

*...No Doubt you have superb skills,but you call yourself the best...if you truly are,then prove it by accepting my chalange! Inclosed is a map to my home high up in the summits of the Stormrend Mountains

Rainbow dash raised her brow "Ive never heard of him" Rainbow Dash then pulled out the map showing a large montain range miles away from ponyville with a red 'X' marked atop the highest peak. "Awww yeah...now thats what Im talking about!" she said as she did a small backflip in the air. "Sky Keeper...get ready to meet the best flyer around!".

later that night Rainbow Dash was lying awake in her bed... "an opertunity...to proove myself" she looked up and smilled. "What more could i ever want."
