It Hurt
By: Amirynn
Deep blue eyes watched the other furtively as a quirky grin made its way to the corner of his lips. As he did everyday, he drank in the intricate details of shadow and movement that was his Other, slight smile almost becoming a smirk as he noted every 'new' quirk he found- his Other was always showing him something new it seemed.
Oceanic blue eyes deepened dangerously as the another figure stepped up to stand beside the other. Stylish tousled hair, a body already shaped from seemingly endless training and clear glasses that did nothing to hide, but rather emphasized the beauty of his almond eyes; Tezuka-buchou really was true competition, and he knew it. In fact, he knew it to the point that he knew he could not compete. His Other showed every sign of infatuation, and he could do nothing about it.
It made him angry, but 'shikata janai'- there was nothing he could do.
And it hurt.
It hurt that he could only watch as the other drifted further away.
It hurt that he could say nothing as his love for the other deepened.
It hurt that he could get to know the other so well that no one's knowledge could compete.
It hurt that he could know and understand the intricacies behind the other's every move.
It hurt that he could say he'd known the other for forever, and yet was still just 'friend'.
His eyes were cloudy and distant as he leaned against the fence, showing his detatchment from the real world; ears not hearing when his name was called, eyes not seeing the other until a warm hand cupped his cheek. He refrained from looking up, to tired of his flawless facade to jump in surprise, as was the norm.
"Eiji?" He winced, recognizing that it was his Other first, before hearing the worry in the other's tone. Hating that he was that cause, he quickly, desperately, tried to summon energy. "Eiji?"
He still hadn't found it. He was to tired, physically and emotionally- but no! He would not be-
He found it.
He raised his head, unusually deep oceanic blue meeting, then drowning in the other's sapphire orbs.
"Eiji." The relief in the other's tone was so faint that it might as well not be there. "Daijobu ka?"
He smiled gently, a true smile reserved only for Him, his Other. Then deep ocean blue lightened once more to an impossible shade of blue that was almost gray as he found the strength to continue his facade.
"Nya~~~! Mengo mengo Syuu-san! Ore mo genki unnyaa~!!!!"
