Summary: A boy goes home.

A/N: Set 2 years after Sakura saw Sasuke at the sound base. I've completely ignored what happened after they met. [E.g. Team Hebi

'What are you doing here?'

'Waiting.'

'For?'

'You.'

Silence.

'Why…?' her voice was like a forgotten whisper, fainter than the rustling of the leaves that surrounded them. .

Once upon a long time ago, she would have been mentally screaming in ecstasy that he had said more than one word to her. That he had actually waited for her. That he was actually there.

He looked faintly tired. His hair had grown long and unkempt. There were barely concealed bags under his eyes. His once beautiful porcelain white skin had turned a tan colour.

'I knew you would come back here one day. That's why I've waited here, at this spot, for 2 years, for you. And yet, is that all you ask me after so long... Sakura?'

The wind encircled the two. A drop of water was caught by a leaf…

'Why are you here? To leave again?'

Unspoken words lingered behind her mummers.

'To hurt Naruto and I again?

'Why did you wait for me?'

He stepped out fully from the shadows of the trees, feet silent against the fallen leaves.

'Just like a Shinobi.' She thought. Not know anything else to think.

One step. Then two. Then he was in front of her.

She stared at his open chest, pointedly refusing to meet his eyes. 'Only a fool would look into a Sharingan wielder's eyes willingly.'

Yet, that didn't stop her when he gently used a delicate finger to push her face upwards to meet his.

Black and Green clashed.

'Her eyes look so devoid of spirit. Is it because of me?'

'His eyes haven't changed.'

She was drawn in to a whirlpool of darkness, it seemed as they were calling to her. Sucking her into the depths of darkness.

Surprisingly, he was the one who broke the contact. He turned, showing the Uchiha Fan to her.'

'Let's go.'

'You're leaving…Again…' She said it as though it was resolute. As though nothing can change his decision. As if she had given up hope before even trying.

'Are you coming?'

'I'm not going anywhere but Konoha!'

'I'm going home.' He said in exasperation, not unlike all those years ago.'Are you coming or not?'

His voice carried its share impatience and annoyance but to a certain kunoichi, it meant the world.

A single drop of water fell from the waxy leaf and was caught by another, darker leaf…

A/N: Ending sucked. Don't know why I wrote it. Forgive me.
