I opened my eyes slowly to find myself in a dark cave. Everything was blurry but I thought I could see bars, I was right. Before me stood Kishame a wanted nin from Akatsuki. I looked to my left and saw HIM. Uchiha Itachi...
Just staring at me. Kishame knelt down in front of the bars and smiled with his creepy shark teeth.
"Looks like shes awake" he almost growled. I tried to move, to say something back but my hands were bound and my mouth gagged. My eyes widened as I began to struggle to grab the rope around my hands.
"Don't bother" Kishame told me "We made sure you can't escape" he smiled even wider. I froze, trying to calculate my options before he stood up and walked away
"You fill her in, I'm going to the beach" the shark man told Itachi. I trembled as the man approached my cage and stared down at me, sharingan ready. He reached through the bars and grabbed my face as I braced myself, giving him a glare of defiance.
"You are being asked to join Akatsuki" his voice came out like cream. I growled in protest but he held my face tighter so all I could see were his blood red eyes. Just then, it hit me, the genjutsu. I saw Another member of Akatsuki wearing a mask talking to young Itachi, and then the slaughter of his clan, him crying. I came out of the genjutsu and looked at Itachi wide eyed
"Can I take this out now?" he asked holding my gag. Slowly I nodded as he took it out, my jaw clamping shut. I just stared at him for what seemed like an eternity but I knew, that I could say nothing and the only way to protect Sasuke was to find out who that man was. Slowly Itachi rose to his feet and unlocked the door. I didn't shake this time because now I understood, that Itachi and I were almost the same. It hit me fully when I saw his eyes both in the jutsu and out, they were dead like mine...
"you will be my partner from here on out, I have special orders" Itachi said untying me. I nodded and began shaking again.
"What about my life? My team?" I asked voice quivering.
"You and I both know your life is your team" Itachi said staring me down again. I nodded and closed my eyes taking in a breath. I knew what he was trying to tell me, what I had to do, even if it meant I was a traitor of my village...
