The day passed on from boring to plain metronome. Birds of many color flapped about in the bright green forest. A crystal river wound its way through it. A young blonde child sat along those emerald banks. Beside her, a blanket was spread out with a picnic basket on it.
The sun shown down brightly, humidifying the forest furthermore.
"Looks like nothing's biting today" she said out loud. Wiping the sweat off her brow, she reeled in her line and lay on the blanket. Almost immediately, her eyes closed and she fell asleep.
The playful breeze that blew through earlier took advantage of this moment and carried away her hat, revealing her silky ponytail.
On the other side of the forest, a young boy traipses through the brush.
"Come on out, buddy! I've been looking for you forever!" he calls. Sadly, to no avail. He looks over to where the sun is beginning to set. Worriedly, he begins combing through the branches quicker.
"It's gonna be dark soon" he moans. "Where are you?"
Meanwhile, in the clearing where the girl is sleeping, a Pikachu appears with a large straw hat. In quick little hops, he approaches the girl and places it next to her. Then he hops off to nuzzles another Pikachu.
The little girl smiles in her sleep, dreaming "Pika" came back. She could almost feel him next to her. Unfortunately, she could also hear the owner "Red" come nearer too.
"Pika! Pika! "calls the boy. "Where are you?" Just then, he steps out into the meadow. He notices a girl, a straw hat and two Pikachus. One of them his.
Smiling, he walks over to Pika and gently nudges him awake. At the same moment, the girl stirs. She opens her eyes in time to see a boy with messy, black hair, red hat, jeans and a red and white shirt.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHH!" she screams. At the same time she quickly sits up after being bolted awake, eyes wide.
"Well good morning to you too!" the boy joked good naturedly.
"Red, you startled me!" came the reply.
Sorry 'bout that," he said as he eyed his Pikachu and hers nuzzling.
The girl turned eyed them too, praying they wouldn't make another egg…
"Well looky here!" a voice says suddenly. The bushes part as an older girl in a black dress and white boots appears. "I didn't know you two moved in so soon!" she chirped.
Instantly the two pull apart, both flushed.
"H-hello Blue-san" the girl stutters.
"Oh Yellow, you know you don't have to be so formal with me" laughs the girl, with a wave of her hand.
"Yes, Blue."
"So Red", the older girl turns her attention to the boy. "What brings you to the Viridian Forest?"
"Well, Pikachu ran away, and I was looking for him" he replies as he scratches the back of his neck (classic Red pose as I call it). As you can see, I found him", motioning to the two Pikachus.
'Hmmm…looks like a storm's coming' the older girl muttered to herself. "Well, see ya. I've got to look for Ditto." At his name, the blanket slowly began to change, 'til all that was left was a pink blob.
"Ah! Found you, Ditty!" she said, scooping up the blob. "Let's go before it rains." With that, the blob became an umbrella and she walked off. "Ciao!" she waved.
"Well, I suppose we should get out of here before it starts to storm" the boy turned to the girl. As if on cue, the torrential rain began to fall.
Yellow ran to get her hat and the two walked back to the city together each with a smile on their faces.

Through the binoculars, Blue was able to see it all. When they were out of sight, she watched them on her tracker. She smiled to herself as she watched the red and yellow dots move across the screen.
"Okay Ditty! Transform!" The umbrella turned into a Cherrim. 'Good thing we ran into those while getting here!' thought Blue. "Now, get rid of Blasty's Rain Dance by using Sunny Day.

"Oh look Red," said Yellow. "The storm cleared up!"
Red smiled and squeezed her hand.
