Have you ever thought about adopting?

Prompt: Dan and Phil have been in an established relationship for a few years and Phil being at 26 (or older) feels like he's ready to adopt a baby/child and voices this, but Dan feels like he's too young to become a parent and angst/fluff/angsty-fluff Warnings: none

A/N: This is based on the prompts written above. I found the prompt on the blog "phanfic" and just felt like writing it.

They were sitting on the couch having dinner while re watching one of their favourite amines. This must be just be just as good a time as any, Phil thought, I have to say it at some point. "Dan?"

Dan turned his head towards Phil when he said his name and made a noise that Phil chose to interpret as a yes. "Have you ever thought about adopting?" Dan almost choked on his food and looked at Phil as if he was crazy.

"Phil, I'm 23! I'm not near old enough to be a parent! And what about YouTube?! If we had a kid we would definitely not be able to keep doing that!" He stopped to take a breath. There was wild panic his eyes. He didn't feel like he was anywhere near ready to become a parent and he just hoped for the life of him that His boyfriend would understand where he was coming from.

Phil took a leaned forward hugging Dan. "Look it was just something to talk about. I didn't say we have to do it right now. But if we could talk about it. At least as some point. I would love to raise a child with you Dan Howell," Phil looked into Dan's eyes with a slight smile on his lips. "I love you and nothing will ever change that, but at some point - it could be years from now - I would like to do this with you. But we shouldn't do it before you are absolutely ready,"

Dan looked at him. Tears brimming in his eyes. He leaped forward to hug Phil, rapping his arms around him. "I love you, too, Phil. And at some point I would love that too,"

Dan leaned in towards Phil's face and pressed their lips together. His hands moved to Phil's shoulders as Phil wrapped his arms around Dan's waist. The kissed did not last long; however, when they pulled away they were both smiling. As they had already finished their dinner, they just snuggled up on their couch and continued watching the anime. They loved each other and they both knew that. When they were both ready they would talk about it again. They both wanted a third family member sometime in the future. Perhaps even a fourth at some point.
