His life was over, literally.

How did someone cope with that kind of pain?

The worst was that Desmond Miles died...only to wake up in another universe, in the home of someone who claimed to be immortal. In the meantime, he understood that whoever this redheaded guy was, he was trying to help.

"I'm sorry I can't do anything to make it go away. The memory will always be with you" Jason said, voice dripping with sadness"but you can go on. You must".

"Says who?"Desmond asked, dangling his legs over the rails.

They were now on the balcony of a hotel, where Jason lived. And Desmond had tried to make a jump from there, only to be stopped by the immortal's smooth talking him.

" Please, come back." Jason sounded rather fatherly. He was behind the man who tried to kill himself now, he was so close. It was just a grab and a pull between them, and Des would be fine.

If only he'd have the guts to make the motion. But he was afraid, what if Des made the jump because Jason was to bold to rush him? The immortal needed to wait a little longer, see how things developed.

"You sound just like my dad, always giving orders"

Jason smiled. "I bet I do. I ...was a father too."

"Was?" now that piqued Desmond's curiosity. Enough to make him turn his head to look back. He couldn't see Jason properly, but he caught him in the peripheral vision.

Such a strange word, vision. It reminded him of his special sight, the Eagle Vision. He could see people's intention with it...except maybe Lucy's. She had been a mystery to him all along, played him like a fool and she was the reason he had to die.

What if he'd never escaped Abstergo? Maybe Doc would have made him an asset?

Des grinned to himself, Warren Vidic to help a fellow man, instead of using him ? That was impossible.

"Answer me this and I will come down from here. I'll even mix you some martini"

"What?"

"If your son would have bern here, and he would have been through so much shit as I've been, would you have let him jump?"

Jason thought, for a second, that this guy was crazy. Put his son on this situation, for what? A test?

But then...Des was right. To assume that someone close to Jason would go through that mind ripping Animus experimenting shit, that was reasonable. Jason agreed, to himself, he would not have let his son live after that. A situation like that in which your mind was used to store your ancestor's memories, feelings, entire lives...it demanded the final solution: death.

But even though he thought about letting Desmond slip, Jason had enough hope for both of them, and he made that distance, grabbing and holding and pulling this troubled boy from the brink of death.

"Does that answer your question? " he said, quite proud of this achievement.

"Yes,it does"

And then Desmond realized he , too had hope for this new life.

Here it is , folks. I hope it's not to weird to think of death and other stuff like that. Truth is, wherever Jason will appear, things will be a little dark. He is that kind of serious business character, and it's made like that on purpose. Anyway, hope you enjoyed. If not the whole story, at least the ending.

p.s : I don't own Assassin's Creed franchise. If I did, I would have played Origins by now :)
