Isabella Swan has been the only body that ties me to this earth since I've met her. Before her, my life had no meaning, I was a vampire wondering the earth for hundreds of years with no purpose. My life was worthless, needless. Of course I had my family, that I love dearly, but they've all got their own mates. I integrate with them during the day, but at night time I have to spend the sleepless nights alone. This is why I am the most talented musician in my household.
But Bella changed everything, she gave my life purpose, someone to be utterly devoted to, to protect, to care for and to love, something that has been missing in my life.
Everything in my world now revolves around Bella. Not that she realises it or takes advantage of this, she is not arrogant about it. I don't even know if she realises that she, is my whole life, to even take control of it.
This is why I decided to ask her to be my wife, because she is all there is for me. Let's just say she didn't say yes the first few times, I was not offended by this, as I know it is not that she doesn't want to marry me, more so that she cares what people will think of her. I understand this getting married at eighteen to a rich guy, a bit gold-digger to most people's eyes.
But these people might as well be blind; they do not know how much we love each other. I take no notice of these people, I know exactly what they think, and I know it's not true. But Bella with her more Human sensitive feelings is tenderer to their vicious thoughts. They already think badly of her for being my girlfriend never mind my fiancée.
But she eventually gave in to my constant pestering and agreed to become my wife, but she wanted two things in return. 1. for me to change her from her fragile self into an indestructible vampire and 2. For us to...make love.
I had promised her the first one, when I first brought up the proposal of marriage, but recently she added another compromise, the last condition. When she first mentioned it, I was totally against it. I knew that she wanted it, badly. But I had the mind-set that I would hurt her, kill her even. But she finally persuaded me.
I decided that I wanted to do the right thing by her. Even if she didn't want to wait, I knew she would rather it in the end. So I said to her, we would try after she married me. So she then agreed to my proposal and I was over the moon.
Now as I bring her through the doors of the house on the Isle Esme, I feel just as nervous as she was. I could feel her fidgeting in my arms. I said we'd try and I was a man of my word.
