(A/N): Seventeenth request from the ABC meme on LiveJournal.
1. Pick a letter.
2. Pick a prompt that starts with that letter (ex. K is for Keyhole)
3. Pick a fandom / comic / webcomic and a character/pairing.
Leave them in a comment and I'll write a drabble of it. No repeats in letters.
See my profile for what fandoms I'll write.
X- Xerox // Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's // Jeager x Mikage
Well, it was originally a request for office sex. But I couldn't quite get around my fluff muse, so instead, you get fluff. Sorry! Haha.
Enjoy!
X is for Xerox
Mikage sighed softly as she stopped by the copier, duplicating the files she had just filled. She wasn't having the best of days.
Poor Atlas-sama had been in a distressed mood ever since his loss to the Satellite boy, Fudou Yuusei. She didn't know what to say to comfort him-in fact, she could barely get a word in before he ranted at her, even more harsh than usual. She didn't know how she could comfort him...or indeed, even if she could.
"Hi-hi-hi~ Seems that some one is down in the dumps, Mikage-san."
She stiffened. She knew that laughter, it was quite distinctive. No one could fail to recognize it after hearing it only once. She turned to her left.
"Nothing of the sort, Jeager."
Indeed, the diminutive elfish man had taken to meeting her around the office-particularly at this copier. She had originally started moving to other copiers in the building to try and avoid him, despite the inconvenience. However, he had always found her. She eventually was resigned to running her normal route, hoping that he wouldn't show.
Sometimes he did, sometimes he didn't.
It came to the point that going to the copier seemed rather boring when he wasn't. The routine was same old, same old: put the documents in, copy them, take them, leave. Mikage found pleasure in the mundane, the boring.
Or so she told herself. But she couldn't help being disappointed when there was no one to talk to at the workplace. Humans could only go so long without social interaction, after all.
Atlas-sama barely looked at her. Godwin only contacted her when he needed reports on Atlas-sama. Most of the other employees were busy with their routine. It wasn't long before the person she talked to most in the workplace was Jeager, of all people.
Over time, animosity seemed to fade between them, if only during those brief moments at the copier. Those brief snitches of conversation became a comfort-regular, relaxed conversation in a place where most conversations were brief, businesslike, and always tinged with stress, anxiety, and urgency.
It was a bit strange to be receiving this sort of treatment from a man who's whole appearance was designed to intimidate. But, it was something that kept her sane in this workplace.
"Well, then, if you're feeling alright, then, I'll need to see you in my office."
"Hai, Jeager."
And it felt natural, that, over time, they started having their little "conversations" at more places than beside the copier.
(A/N): Be careful when requesting. I got a load of requests during chat last night, so there are actually very few letters available. I'll be updating around ten to eleven stories at various intervals over today, and possibly tomorrow if I don't finish them all today. Check my LJ post for a more up-to-date list.
Review, pretty please?
