"Where are we Doctor?" Rose Tyler asked curious, it was just after their encounter with the outlaws in Sherwood Forest. "Not… what was it? X...H...I…"

"X.H.I.Q.G.U.Z.Y.O.K.L.S.D.A.R.B!" the Doctor popped in.

"Yeah. That planet. We aren't there right?"

"Nope! We're in Poland, not far from Krakow, in the year 1930."

"Why? What happens outside Krakow in 1930?"

"Well, what do you say we go and find out? Even if an event doesn't make it to the history books something, however small and insignificant it might appear, always happens."

Hand-in-hand they walked together through a small wood, just talking about all their previous adventures together, as well as those they would embark on in their future, together.

"What? You and Martha think Jack might be what?"

"The Face of Boe. Yep. That might just be good old Jack." The Doctor flashed one of his usual smiles then he turned serious. "We should go visit him, you know. He works in Cardiff, for Torchwood, the new and improved version. He'll be so thrilled to see you."

They didn't get to talk more about it as they suddenly heard someone yelling and screaming in the river they'd heard for a while not far away. Instantly they started to run and as they reached the river they could see a young boy, about ten years old, struggling to get free of the current which was rapidly pulling him along. Without hesitating the Doctor threw off his coat and jumped into the water, managing the pull the boy free of the current he dragged him ashore.

"You okay." Rose asked. The boy as much as the Doctor.

"I'm fine." The Doctor gasped. "And you?"

"Fine. Thank you." The boy said.

"Hey. What else should I've done? Let you drown? What's your name anyway?"

"Karol Wojtyla. I'm really sorry you two, I gotta go; my dad will be worried."

With those words they boy, whom they now knew was named Karol, jumped up and raced away as fast as he could.

"Karol… Karol Wojtyla. NO WAY!"
