I know I have already done a story which took place after episode 19 which was "Milk and Cookies (Riki/ Haruna)". So I thought I'd try writing one for Yohei/ Haruna as well, since this episode made me like the Y/H pairing.

Protector

The boys were already eating their dinner when Doctor Dazai noticed that Haruna was missing.

"Boys, where is Haruna?" asked Dr. Dazai.

"Oh, she told me that she was not hungry and that she'll rather stay in her room". Riki replied and continued eating.

"Is she okay?" Yohei asked.

"I guess. She was smiling when she told me that. Riki answered.

"Hmmm…Haruna has not talked to me since she saved me earlier. I must thank her later." Yohei thought.

After Dinner

Yohei stood outside Haruna's bedroom and knocked. "Haruna? Are you awake?"

The door opened quietly and Yohei saw that Haruna looked sad.

"Haruna, it seems as if you are not in a good mood right now. But I want to thank you for saving me earlier. It was really kind of you to do that, especially since I constantly tease you." Yohei continued.

"Mmm". Haruna just nodded with her back facing Yohei.

"Haruna? Did I do something wrong?" Yohei worriedly asked.

Haruna could not take it anymore. She pushed Yohei on the wall and yelled at him. "Why did you do that earlier?! Why did you push me away from the Poison Boma?! Don't you know how worried and guilty I am because of what you did?! Why Yohei?!" Haruna cried.

Yohei hugged Haruna and rubbed her back to calm her down. "I'd rather be the one to suffer than you Haruna. I don't want you to get hurt."

Haruna pushed Yohei again. "Hurt?! When I became a Turboranger I got numb from that feeling. I don't care about getting hurt Yohei."

"I do, because I care about you Haruna". Yohei said quietly.

"Huh?" The pink ranger blushed.

"Why do you think I always rush to your side whenever you get hit by Bomas? Why do you think I always partner up with you during combination attacks? Why do you think I always hold on to you whenever we get chased by Yamimaru?" Yohei asked.

Haruna could not speak. She was not crying anymore, but her heart was beating so fast. "Does Yohei like me?" She thought.

"It's because I like you Haruna. A lot. I just don't show it that much because you know how hard the boys can tease. I'd like to be the one who would always be there for you, to protect you Haruna." Yohei continued while looked away blushing.

"Yohei…I…Thank you." Haruna could not think straight. Yohei just confessed that he likes her a lot. Out of all the girls who have a crush on him in school, she was the one whom he picked.

"I understand if you don't feel the same way, Haruna. I just want to let you know how I feel. Well, I'm glad I finally told you. I just hope things would remain the same between us." Yohei said.

"No Yohei."

"Huh?" Yohei was worried. He thought he ruined his friendship with the pink ranger.

"Things will not remain the same between us. I don't want to be friends with you anymore." Haruna said

Yohei was crushed. He just got rejected by his longtime crush.

"…because I want us to be more than that" Haruna continued. She was finally happy.

Yohei looked up to see a smiling Haruna. "I like you too Yohei, I always have." Haruna confessed.

She pulled him into a hug while Yohei kissed her.

"I will be your protector too." She assured Yohei.
