Guess what? Guess what? It's eight o'clock. My dad lets me use the Internet or watch television from then until ten o'clock, of which is my bedtime. I call it fun time. Ten is my curfew for school nights and today is a Wednesday. On weekends, I get to stay up until eleven. Although my fun time gets an extra hour on those days, I don't do anything special with it.

My favorite activity is chatting on Facebook with my friends, mainly the rest of the members of the Babysitters Club, which is what my group of friends call ourselves because we love children and we love sitting for them. I usually use up all of my fun time doing that. Yay!

I sit in front of my computer with a cup of green tea. I had squirted some lemon juice in it earlier and hooked the slice on the rim of the mug, of which is the traditional way of doing it. I wonder why that is so. Wouldn't it be easier to just put it next to your drink? But then you would have to get a napkin to put under it, which would be an extra chore. No matter. I'll just do it the way you are supposed to do it, I suppose. Now lets get down to what's really important.

I smile as I see that I have four unread private messages.

Kristy Thomas: Hi, Mary Anne! How are you?

I grin as I reply back feeling self-satisfied.

Mary Anne: I'm good, Kristy. How were the Arnold twins today?

I click on the next one, which happened to be Dawn.

Dawn Schafer: Mary Anne. I miss you even though I saw you today at lunch. Haha.

Dawn is so funny, I thought. I felt kind of popular as I responded.

Mary Anne: Hi, Dawn! How were the Pike kids today. I hope you and Jessi didn't have too much trouble with them. Haha.

I tap on the computer mouse to bring up the remaining message. It's Stacey! I love Stacey! She's so sophisticated. I've always wished that I've had as much flair as she did. And she does it so effortlessly, too. Gosh!

Stacey McGill: Hi, Mary Anne. How was your day? I don't really have anything to say. I just wanted to stop by and see how you were. I had nothing to say yesterday either and yet still dropped you a note then, too. Haha. I'm so lame. I hope you don't mind! You're just a really fun person to talk to.

Stacey McGill! The fabulous fashionista! The glamour girl! She just wanted to stop by and chat for bit for no reason. With me! Unworthy Mary Anne! I sat back in my chair feeling very much flattered. I felt excited as I wrote back.

Mary Anne: Hi, Stacey! Oh no, I don't mind at all. I love it when you drop me notes! You are a great person to chat with. I love chatting with you. You are so cool.

I then beamed. I felt great.

I then logged off of my account and logged on to my Kristy Thomas account in order to reply back to my message. I'm going to do the same with my Dawn and Stacey accounts afterwards. Then I'll log back onto my account to continue the dialogue.

I take a sip of my tea. And as I do, I remembered something from earlier today. It was during lunch. Kristy had been making fun of the disgusting-looking cafeteria food yet again. I had laughed a bit too loudly at her joke and a few kids from some of the other tables looked at me queerly. I knew this because I took a peek. I heard some snickers, too. Their smirking faces made me feel self-conscious because they reminded me of what they were seeing: a girl with pigtails sitting by herself at a lunch table.
