Okay, this idea just came to me, and I thought it'd be cute. This is a little drabble of chibi Don and Zarah before they had their memories of each other swiped.
Void: Bath Time
"NO BATH!"
Sally spilled her coffee at the two voices cried from upstairs. Sighing she slouched in her easy chair, knowing she'd have to clean the side table after taking care of a pair of whining children who hated taking baths.
Two pairs of paddling footsteps were heard, and she could not help but laugh when she heard the sound of her husband's footsteps tiredly following them.
"Mama/Ms. Sally!"
She pretended to ignore the two children who stood behind her. She fought back a giggle when she heard the two wobble to either side of her easy chair, peaking over. Her daughter Zarah was dressed in her cotton bathrobe, while little Donnie stared at her, his green face no longer hidden by his mask.
Both stared at her with pleading brown eyes.
"Yall have ta take a bath," she stated simply.
"But Mama," the corner of her mouth twitched hearing her daughter become upset, "I don' wanna take a bath!"
She glanced at Donnie who was nodding silently in agreement.
Bringing a hand to her forehead, she began to think. How to get these two dirt balls into the bathtub?
Think…
Think…
Think…
Her eyes snapped open as an idea flooded her system, "Have I ever told you two the story of the child who didn't wanna take a bath?"
She laughed then the two immediately climbed into her lap, looking at her with wide and hope filled eyes.
She smiled, "Once upon a time, there was a little boy named," She paused, thinking of a name, "Flower."
"Like the skunk from Bambi?" she looked down at Donnie, sending him a pout.
"It's my story."
"Sorry," he looked down putting his hands on his lap with apologetic look.
She rubbed his shell before continuing, "Well, Flower didn't like ta take baths, so every time his Daddy would try to get 'im ta take a bath, he'd hide in the flower garden."
"Was it a pretty garden?" Zarah and Donnie asked simultaneously.
"Yes, it was," Sally nodded.
"So, one day, a magical fairy came…"
"But fairies aren't real," Donnie stated.
"Do ya want a story or not?" she asked, looking at the two.
"Sorry," Donnie sighed.
"Sorry, ma'am," Zarah looked in her lap.
"Okay. So, one day, a magical fairy came inta the garden one day while Flower was hidin'. She smelled a horrid stench comin' from there an' decided to find out who was causin' her beautiful flowers to smell so bad. She found Flower, and became very angry with 'im, an she said 'If ya don' take a bath, then I will turn ya into a pig.' So, days passed, an' Flower still didn' take a bath, so when the fairy came back she was very angry with Flower."
"What' happened to 'im, Mama?" Zarah asked.
"The fairy turned 'im inta a pig," Sally stated.
"But fairies aren't real," Donnie stated, "they're just pretend."
Sally smiled, "Aw, you'll never know."
Donnie and Zarah's eyes widened. Her husband was standing in the doorway chuckling as the two darted past him.
"You just made that up, did you?" he asked with an amused look.
"I did," she grinned turning to her husband, "now go give 'im a bath, I gotta clean somethin' up."
"Okay…"
From the bathroom, she could hear two voices crying out, "Daddy/Mr. Phil!"
Phil laughed, before going upstairs. Moments afterwards, the sound of water running was heard.
She laughed, "Now, all I need is a way to get them ta start pickin' up after themselves without me tellin' them to."
