It was like any other day at Hollywood Arts. Tori and Andre were practicing on a new song. Rex was humiliating Robbie in front of the "popular" girls. Jade was in the bathroom applying her black eyeliner. She was still upset about her break-up with Beck, but she thought she was dealing fairly well. She exited the bathroom. She opened her compact mirror to double check her make-up. She wasn't looking where she was going. Suddenly she ran into someone, and they both went crashing to the floor. Jade was about to yell at the person for not looking where they were going, although it was her fault. She didn't speak though. She was mesmerized by this boy's beauty. The boy had perfect fair skin. His hair was shaggy and a dreamy dark brown. He smiled at her. His teeth were so white. She wanted to be upset, but all she could think about was his smile. They both stood up. The boy was wearing a navy blue v-neck. The shirt slightly showed his muscles. His blue jeans were torn up like they had been worn several times. He wouldn't stop smiling at her. He looked her over with her black dress and black hair. He thought she was radiant. Before they could even get a word out the bell rang, and as if confused the boy ran off.

After first period Jade walked over to Andre and Cat, who were standing by the lockers. Andre was scribbling something in a notebook. Cat had a strangely confused look on her face. Jade asked her what was wrong with her in her annoyed tone. Cat replied, "Well…my brother's turtle got loose, so I'm looking for it."

Jade said," How do you lose a turtle?"

"It was really fast. Here turtle…here turtle turtle!"

Cat got down on the floor and crawled away in search of her brother's turtle.

Andre asked," Do you think we will ever meet her brother?"

Jade replied," Probably not."

The bell rang and they were off. Jade was alone in the hallway. She wanted to skip her next class. She sat on the steps waiting for time to pass. Then the boy from earlier sat down beside her. He smiled at her. She smiled back. She was so thrilled to see him again. She didn't understand, but she had such an unspoken connection with him. It frustrated her that they had never spoken, but she was afraid that speech would ruin this perfect relationship or whatever it was between them. Did she want to keep it that way? Was she afraid to mess everything up? Luckily it wasn't up to her. He opened his mouth. This was it. He was going to speak to her. She wondered what his voice would sound like and how amazing his name would be. Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of another bell. The boy looked sad and reluctant to leave, but he ran off and left Jade alone in a crowd of students.

She walked to her locker and saw Tori there. She couldn't stand her, but today nothing could ruin her mood. She was happy with her mystery man. Tori noticed the change in her attitude so she asked her what was going on. Jade replied," Nothing. It's none of your business!" She had to feign anger. Tori must have believed her because she stopped talking. Andre, Robbie, Rex, and Beck walked over to them. Cat was nowhere to be found. Everyone assumed she was looking for that lost turtle. Then Cat walked over to them. Jade looked in that direction, and there he was. It was her mystery guy. What was he doing with Cat? Were they dating? Was he trying to cheat on Cat with her? Her mind was all twisted up. Cat and the boy walked up to them. His face lit up when he saw Jade. Cat looked around and said," Everyone this is my brother Xander." Xander what a beautiful name. Then his mouth opened. She would finally hear his voice. He said," Hi." Jade thought it was the most beautiful voice she had ever heard. She was again mesmerized by him. She wasn't thinking clearly, but then a stray thought popped in her head. Her wonderful mystery man was CAT'S BROTHER!
