This is my first fic! I'm just a tiny bit excited. So I decided to translate a memory monologue I wrote into a fic for the series that got me into fan fiction in the first place. It may be a bit crazy with description, but I needed to do it for the monologue.
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the recognizable stuff. That belongs to J.K Rowling.
I wake up every night to my own screaming. There's sweat and tears. I can hear her coming from her room at the end of the hallway. She always comes.
I curse myself for wishing it were him coming instead. It always makes me feel worse.
Every night it's the same. She'll come in and hold me. She'll sing the lullaby I remember from my childhood; it all seems so far away now. She'll stay with me until I cry myself back to sleep, knowing that it will only be a matter of hours, sometimes minutes, before I scream again.
I know what she's thinking. She wishes she were hugging him instead.
Every night, it's the same dream.
I close my eyes and I'm back there again.
I can hear everything; the screaming, crying, the breaking of bones, castle wall, the stomping, running. I can hear laughter of all things. It's maniacal. It's sadistic. I can hear the curses hit their targets. I can hear the targets fall. I can't get that voice to leave me, even when I'm awake.
I can smell the smoke. I can smell the dirt and blood on my face, the dust in the air. It's getting harder to breathe.
I can feel it. Burning fire, hot tears, dirty hands, crusted blood, fresh blood. Finally, the cold, hard ground.
And that's when it happens. I begin to truly see it all, all over again. The rubble, the statues, the flashes of red, white, and worst of all, green. I see crying people over lifeless bodies. I roll over and I see his face. His eyes stare at me; I stare at the charred mark on his chest. My only friend.
And then I find I'm with her again, whimpering, muttering his name. Her only son.
Okee dokes! That's it! I guess it sounds better if someone's acting it out for you.
There was a second part to it because it's all in a string of related monologues and quick scenes I did with a troupe a while back.
If you guys like it, I might just put up the second monologue.
Well… Thanks for reading!
