Author's Note:
I was requested to do a Cid/Vincent fic for a friend of mine a while
ago, so I did. Since I wanted to take another view on everything, I
gave it from the point of view of a passing Marlboro. I'm not a big
Cid/Vincent fan, but I liked this, maybe because its something
different. Enjoy!
Many people would think that monsters would have low intelligences. This wasn't so, especially when it came to the Marlboro. The Marlboro had an intelligence that surpassed that of humans, it just didn't have a voice box that could be understood by humans. This was one of the reasons why they could cast so many spells.
A curious young Marlboro, still quite large even at its teenage years, was mindfully gliding on his merry way through the darkened forest when a few strange noises were coming from the trees surrounding it. Wondering what it was, the Marlboro made its way quickly over, peeking as well as it could (for a very little known fact is that Marlboros have horrid eyesight) through the foliage.
Two humanoids were in the clearing. One had bright hair, cropped short and held back by his goggles. The other was wearing a long ratty cape. These were the first things that the Marlboro noticed.
The second was that the two were bickering. The Marlboro slid closer, intent on finding out what this argument was about. It had never understood humans that well, since it had not had any experience with them.
"What are you talking about?" the short-haired man growled angrily.
"It would be best, I believe, if we waited until the next town to do anymore activities," the other replied.
"They're already asleep, Vincent!" the first growled, stepping closer to his partner.
The red-caped man did not move. "It would not be prudent-" he began before he was roughly cut off.
"Fuck prudent!" Without anymore words, the smaller man grabbed the pale one by his shoulders and forced him down into a long kiss.
The Marlboro was confused. Didn't these creatures know that it was not the right season for mating rituals? The green monster shook its head, gliding off. It would never fully understand the two-leggers.
