The Magic of Disney

When Miranda first got the movie for her 7th birthday, her parents never realized that they would be dissuading their daughter from watching the movie daily. They were moderately successful; Miranda only watched the movie every other day with other Disney movies filling in on the other days. It was unequivocal that the seven year old girl had an ardent love for Frozen. She had numerous lines from the movie memorized. While coloring, she would quibble with friends about whether Elsa's eyes were sky blue or turquoise blue. She could sing along with every song from Frozen. Actually, Miranda knew just about every song from every Disney movie…

Miranda had just gotten back from trick-or-treating and was flouncing around the house in her costume. Her parents had conceded and had bought her an Elsa costume for Halloween. Miranda had been a little discouraged that there had been numerous Elsas at her school, but she still loved her costume.

Conceal don't feel

Don't let them know

But now they know!

Miranda was spinning around in the kitchen singing. Her parents had long since left the room. There was only so much Disney they could handle. The little girl flung her hands out, imitating what Elsa had done in the movie.

Let it go!

Miranda's eyes widened, but she continued singing.

Let it go!

She stopped. The girl stared at her hands in wonder. Just like in the movie, light blue wisps had come out of her hands when Miranda had sung the lines. Her confusion slowly melted away into a grin that reached from ear to ear. She resumed, but with even more enthusiasm.

Can't hold it back anymore

Let it go

Let it go

Turn away and slam the door

I don't care what they're going to say

Let the storm rage on

The cold never bothered me anyway

Miranda's love for Disney increased tenfold from then on. It didn't matter what she sang, something always happened; flowers and her hair glowed when she sang from Tangled, fish swam nearer to her when she sang from The Little Mermaid, fireflies swarmed when she sang from The Princess and the Frog.

Four years later on Miranda's 11th birthday, she was slightly disappointed to realize with the arrival of her Hogwarts letter, that she was in fact not a Disney princess.
