"Come on, Storm, get a pair. I'll buy em. They are so cool" Pony begged his son, touching the rubber shoes. the shoes were rubber with no back and had holes near the front.
"Those are the fuckin ugliest shoes i have ever seen" Dally shook his head.
"They are so cool, arent they Storm?" 11 year old Storm stood between his fathers.
"Uhmm... thier real different" the blonde boy said, rubbing his nose.
"Get a pair. I'll get em for you. they are so neat" Pony touched a green pair. Storm shifted on the balls of his feet. There were holes on the top of the ugly shoes too where one could put charms they bought specially for the shoes.
"What are they called?" Pony asked, eyeing the tag.
"Crotches" Dally snorted. Pony waved his hands at his husband
"Crocks,Papa" Storm rolled his eyes.
"How do you not think these are so neat?" Pony asked arounding the store. Dally didnt think this palce would last two months in the mall. No store stayed long in this location.
"Look, and i bet they are real airy" Pony said.
"They would kill to run in. When i was your age..." Dally starts at Storm.
" You were arrested for stealing. Dont start" Pony looked at his soul mate, arms crossed over his chest.
"We had to wear sneakers, those converse ones, only ones that lasted long and were tuff to run in"
"Tough? as in hard?" Storm cocked his head slightly.
"Oh God" Dally put his head in his hands. He then grabbed both his men and started out of the place.
"Dally, Storm wanted those shoes!" Pony tried to escape the grip on his shoulder.
"Maybe some other time. Storm needs to go and visit Uncle Tim. If he doesnt know what 'tuff' means"
"Use it in a sentence" Storm begged, not wanting to visit the sharp tongued Shepard. Pony threatened to call Dally, Dally threatened to call Tim.
"Man that car was tuff" Dally said, turning to look his son in his pale grey eyes.
"Does it mean fast?"
"Tim!" Dally called even though the man wasnt there. Storm whimpered.
"Dal"
"Tim will sort this kid out" They were in the parking lot.
"I want those shoes!" Pony whined, looking back at the store.
"Everything you dig is so ugly, Pone. Like that really ugly dog you loved at the pound" Dally snorted as did Storm.
"You two love Teddy" Pony whined, recalling the puppy with an over-bite they had at home.
"And that ugly kid he picked up on the side of the street" Dally continued.
"What!" Storm whimpered. "I'm yours. You said Dad had me"
"Did I?" Dally said thoughtfully. Storm grabbed for his Daddy's hand, a sad look in his eyes.
"You're all mine and Papa's, Stormie. And i have the scar to prove it. And the pictures. I promise. You're just lucky i got to givee you your middle name. Dally wanted it something different." Storm Darrel Winston-Curtis looked to his father and cocked his head.
"Storm imma-kick-yo-ass Winston-Curtis." Dally chuckled.
"Oh God" Storm shook his head at his father.
