The moon and the stars

- Kasane is a girl.-

She was not as most saw her. She had thoughts and feelings about girlish things. Kasane blushed. When she lived in the present she never thought that romance or boys would come to her. She never grew her hair long. She had to be better than the boys. She had brothers to protect and look after. Kasane hated losing more than anything, so she focused her life on competing in kendo. She resigned that her looks would never matter to her.

But she was a girl. It's not like she didn't want to be called pretty or be the eye of someone's affection. Sometimes she felt stupid worrying over her looks so much and comparing herself to women of this era. Even with their natural beauty the women were far prettier than her. 'This is so stupid! I'm a soldier why should I care how I look?'

Nobunaga had noticed that she had started back acting strangely. But he sensed it was different than when she saw her family through that time warp. She kept staring at her reflection in the water and murmuring things to herself.

He did not understand women and he vaguely wondered if 'that' time of the month had come for her. His face reddened at the thought that maybe she just started having them. He dismissed the thought. She did not look pale or tired. But she was acting strange. He would never admit out loud that he liked her enthusiasm and weirdness. It was cute. She was carefree but determined and she overreacted to things he did. He needed to stop, he was beginning to get angry thinking about all the times she had beaten him to the punch or misunderstood his intentions.

He walked away from his hiding spot behind a tree to her, making sure that his presence was not known. But knowing her she would figure it out anyway. He smirked seeing her tense and grab her katana.

"Girl." He greeted. He saw her small shoulders relax a bit.

His eyes widened when she turned around. She was crying. She doesn't say anything and neither does he. She wipes her eyes mumbling something about grass getting in her eyes.

Nobunaga is confused, more so than he has ever been in his life. He moves to touch her when she recoils. She places her hands in front of her and starts to babble.

"..U-um. Hi, I-uh I really did have something in my eye so, u-uh I wasn't crying! O-Oh, do you w-want me to do something? I can do it right away, M'Lord."

She opens her mouth to speak again when he toys with a long lock of her hair effectively silencing her.

Suddenly she receives a sharp yank. She screams as she is grabbed by her collar. "You didn't help make lunch, girl! I'll kick you out if you start slacking!"

Nobunaga doesn't really mind that she didn't. But this was the only thing he could think of to do. Kasane makes a face at him calling him a 'meanie'. But soon she is smiling and Nobunaga feels proud that he changed her mood even if only temporarily.

It seems that both Kasane and the Lord are bad at expressing their feelings.

Hope you enjoyed this! I know it may seem unconventional or crazy but I can see them having a relationship. They are actually similar when you look at it. Sorry for the mistakes, in the future my writing will get better.
