Don't Wait

Disclaimer: I do not own anything.

She was alone and it was nighttime.

Amanda walked across the now empty beach. She barely saw the old man walk towards her.

"My dear, I see sorrow in your eyes." He says in a husky voice, the same voice Wilder has, only the man's was somehow different from Wilder's voice. He only uses his husky voice occasionally.

Wilder.

Their relationship would always end because of some stupid fight and Wilder would always be the gentleman and say "sorry" and "I love you" first.

"Excuse me?" She asks her eyes growing wide.

"Don't wait. You will end up losing someone if you keep on doing so." He says, looking at Amanda with eyes that were filled with regret themselves, before walking away limping.

That was weird, she thought.

Suddenly the phone in her right hand started to ring. She smiled. She thought it was Wilder calling to say he was sorry.

At that she was partially right.

"Amanda?" Rebecca's shaky voice was heard through the speakers, not Wilder's.

"Rebecca? Why are you calling me at the middle of the night?" She asked then there was a sob from the other side of the line.

"It's Wilder." Rebecca says.

"Rebecca what happened to Wilder?" Amanda asks her eyes growing wide. Images started flashing through her mind.

"Amanda he met an accident. Amanda he's gone!" Rebecca replies followed by another wave of sobs.

"No... no... no! This can't be happening!"

"Amanda I'm sorry." Rebecca sobbed.

Right after that, Amanda dropped her phone and went to catch the earliest flight back.

Never mind she left her designer clothes back in her hotel room; the only man she loved was gone. It was amazing how she could even think straight at the moment.

Don't wait. You will end up losing someone if you keep on doing so. The man's words kept repeating itself in her head.

"He never married?"

"No."

"Why? I thought he was in love with someone else."

"That's what you thought. He was just waiting for you to say you still love him."

"But I was waiting for him to say I love you." She said in a whisper that was barely audible, tears threatening to fall free from her eyes.

"I guess you were both waiting," he shrugged before walking away. She finally gave in and let the tears fall free from her eyes.

"Oh! And Amanda," Michael says looking back at the now weeping girl.

"Huh?" She looked up from the ground.

"He asked us to tell you he loves you before he went." Michael says before turning away.

Then there was silence.

Only then she realized she was really alone.

Her life is now filled with 'what if's and 'if only's.

"The wise man was right. I will lose someone if I just wait for things to happen." She smirked at herself letting tears fall free.

She crumpled the note given to her in her hands. Noah had given the note to her before she had that conversation with Michael. But then her eyes widened.

She looks at the note, regret evident in her eyes. She walked away and dropped the note, knowing well she would never be able to fulfill his final request to her.

The words "love again" were scribbled across the paper in a messy yet understandable handwriting.

She would never be able to fulfill that request. No without her hear heart. Her heart that died with him.
