Yasmin's Story

It was oddly breezy out and she shivered at the cold. And as the waves of the ocean in front of her crashed and cried, Yasmin sat there with her knees to her chest with tears flowing down her face. She didn't want it to end this way, but it just had to. Her life was never perfect but she still tried to make it. But no matter how hard she tried, her attempts for success lately were never achieved. Failure after failure was all she knew. Her family loved her still though and they were trying their best to assist her. Things were starting to go okay again to them. To them they're sweet Yasmin was back to her old self. But she knew better. She was sinking deeper and deeper into depression and it just wasn't looking well. She couldn't do this anymore. And it was time. She stood and released her hair from the messy bun. It flowed around her shoulders and down her back. She sighed It's now or never, she thought. She began walking. Eyes closed, feet bare, and heart open she relied on nothing but the rest of her senses beyond sight.

It smelled of salt water

It was cold and her body shivered at the wind

The sand under her feet sunk in and slowed her steps

The mist from the water began to reach her fingers

She stepped closer, eyes still closed, and felt the sea water rise around her feet and ankles.

She inhaled deeply one last time, appreciating the breath of fresh air. She ran deeper into the water eyes still closed water rising to her waist. A little farther and it hit her, A wave that was. It pulled her under and he lay floating under the water waiting for death to take her. She was ready to inhale ad let the water fill her lungs. On the count of three

A splash

The sound of someone splashing in the water next to her alarmed her. She finally opened her eyes and saw who it was. She gasped and screamed out under the water as the salt scratched at her eyes and the water filled her lungs. He pulled her up as quickly as possible. They surfaced and he carried her limp body to shore. He lay her on her back and began CPR . After a few moments

Yasmin sat up and choked the remaining water from her body. She sighed and looked up at her savior.

Eitan

Eitan looked into her eyes. Emerald green met hazel ones. He shook his head and brought a finger to her lips as she tried to speak. He shushed her and just held her close. There was nothing to say. He loved her. She was his best friend. And most importantly she didn't have to die.
