Love's Fool
AN: This one shot is about the triangle between Marty/John/Natalie.
*Fireplace*
Natalie placed a log in the fireplace and struck a match. She looked at the flames and thought about all the ways that she had recently been burned. Why did she have a need to obtain the unattainable? He would be here soon and they had a lot to talk about. She was tired of being the mistress, of being the home breaker. She hated the woman that she had become. She loved him and needed to tell him that he needed to make his choice, because if he couldn't choose her then she had to walk away.
*Fireflies*
John walked up the pathway to Llanfair. He spotted a firefly perched on one of the tree branches as he passed. He placed his finger by it and the firefly walked into his hand. He had always loved Fireflies ever since he was a kid. He used to collect them with Mikey and they would keep them in a jar watching them as their lights faded. When their lights faded their mother would make them set them free.
Natalie had become his firefly. She had so much light and strength when they had first met, but her light had been dying slowly out as he trapped her in a relationship where he couldn't offer anything that she needed. He needed to set her free, so that hopefully she could regain the light that she once held.
*Cuddle*
John had every intention of setting Natalie free from their toxic relationship, but as he looked at the fireplace...he couldn't do it, not tonight. He was too selfish to let her go, he needed her one last time.
"We need to talk?" Natalie stated.
"Shhhh," John said as he placed his finger over Natalie's lips. "We can talk later, right now I just want to cuddle with you by the fireplace. He held her in his arms and he needed to become one with her once more before he ended their relationship. He pulled her into a kiss as they discarded each other's clothes.
*Played for a Fool*
Marty was tired of being played for a fool. She wanted to believe in John, but she couldn't. There had been too many close moments between him and Natalie and she knew in her heart that he was cheating on her.
She couldn't be John's fool anymore. She needed to find out once and for all where John would go when he claimed he was working so she followed him to Natalie's.
They had left the door open so she walked in and spotted them wrapped up in each other's arms and she had never felt like a bigger fool.
*Nosebleed*
"Well isn't this cozy," Marty stated.
John looked up at her and scrambled to his feet in a panic while Natalie grabbed the throw and wrapped herself in it.
"This isn't what it looks like," John lamely answered.
"Really, cause it looks like you were having sex with Natalie."
"Please Marty, just give me a second chance. You're pregnant with my child, I want to make it work with you. I was going to end things with Natalie. I know that I can be committed to you."
"You can't be committed to anybody. You're always going to be a part of our child's life, but I just don't want you to be a part of mine any longer."
"Don't go," John said as he pulled her into a kiss.
Marty pulled away and punched him in the nose with all the pent up anger she was feeling. "Don't touch me ever again," Marty said as she ran away from the house.
John's nose was bleeding all over the carpet. Marty had broken his nose, he was sure of it.
"Natalie, I got to go after her," John stammered as he threw his clothes back on.
"If you go after her, then we're through. You need to decide John, do you want her or do you want me?"
"I want both of you."
"That's no longer an option just get out." Natalie said.
"I'm sorry Natalie."
"Just go." Natalie said.
He walked out into the rain...Marty was long gone. He tried to go back inside, but Natalie had locked him out. He knew in his heart that he had lost both of the woman that he loved tonight and he felt like a fool.
