Kai: (hugs Rei) this is an other story for Lirin's cat. I still can't believe that a year has gone by.

Tala:Beyblade is not Lirin's.

One Year Later

It was shortly after the new school term started that Rei realized what time of the year it was. And slowly he sunk into a depression.

His friends asked what was wrong, but Rei, being who he was just smiled and said it was nothing. And the subject dropped.

But slowly Saturday was approaching. His depression was gradually getting worse. And most of the days before, Rei almost vanished from school.

Friday night finally came, and he and Kai returned to Kai's mansion for the weekend. And even with just the two of them Rei was distant. Kai was extremely worried about his koi, but didn't know what to do.

Finally Saturday, February 2 came, and Rei just disappeared from the house. Kai searched everywhere he could think of trying to find the tiger, but to no avail. Meal times came and went and still Rei didn't show himself.

Kai eventually had to give up his search when sleep threatened to have him collapse where he stood. So reluctantly he was just about to turn his light off, when muffled noise made their way into the room.

Kai grabbed his bathrobe and dashed up the stairs to the roof. And there in the corner above his room was a flickering light.

Rei was huddled up behind the candle holding a picture of his cat and crying.

Realization donned on Kai exactly what was going on. He felt like an idiot he had forgotten that today was the 1 year anniversary of Fuzzball.

So not saying a word he sat beside the crying neko and held him close. Rei was shivering with cold, but neither moved from the spot.

Less then an hour later Kai was hearing the soft purrs coming from Rei's sleeping form. So being as careful as he could, Kai lifted Rei up and brought him to bed.

Ripples soon joined them curling up at Rei's head and sleeping there for the night.

"I'm sorry Kitten; I should have known what was going on. And next year you want be alone."

Kai rubbed Ripples' head and place a soft kiss on Rei's forehead before following the two nekos into the dream world.

Lirin: 1yr and the pain is still here alone with the 'what if' questions. and i should have done this a few weeks ago, but couldn't bring myself to think about it until now.
