Title: The Kensuke Files
Author: Flicker
A boy wearing a trench coat hurried along the street, occasionaly throwing a glance over his
shoulder as if he thought he was being followed. He turned into an apartment building. Across
the lobby and into the elevator. Up, up to the third floor. He went to that room, that certain
apartment. He banged open the door, ready for whatever awaited him. Oh, it was far worse than
he had anticipated. He had run straight into......
Jun, Daisuke's annoying sister. She immediately turned on the flirting, "Why, hello, you must
be Daisuke's friend!"
"Uh, yeah," Ken said nervously, "Umm, I'd better go and see him."
She ran after him, "But wait, you didn't sign my shirt!"
A hand pulled him into Daisuke's room, and locked the door just in time. "Hey, what's with the
get-up?" Daisuke asked, staring at Ken's trench coat.
Ken blushed, "Well, I was thinking that this was kinda like that American (AN: I think it's
American, but I'm not sure)TV show, "The X-Files".
Daisuke whistled, "Huh. The Kensuke Files. Shall we get started?" Ken nodded. Daisuke switched
on his computer. As it whirled into life, he and Ken talked about their task. You see, as they
were surfing the internet one day, they had noticed a secret batch of data, kept hidden from
the rest of the world. The Kensuke Files. The two boys had opened it, wondering about the
similarities between their names. That's when they found it. A whole plethora of websites,
fanfics, and fanart dedicated to them. That would have been just fine except the fact that it
was dedicated to them, *as a couple*. They had come up with a plan to go through and delete all
that had to do with "Kensuke" as they so quaintly called it.
Ken looked up to see that Daisuke was already accessing the files. As he stared at the boy, he
began to notice things that scared him. He noticed how the shadows fell on Daisuke's face, how
his burgandy hair looked so soft, how his brown eyes glinted. Ken quickly looked away. How
could he tell this boy that he didn't want the Kensuke Files to be deleted. He wanted it to be
reality.
Daisuke glanced over at Ken. He was being rather quiet. He sighed. Ken. His ex-nemesis. His
best friend, even before Takeru. He smiled thinking how he admired this boy so much, and not
just his talent in soccer or his school smarts. He admired the way the boy's indigo hair fell
into his face. He admired how his gentle blue eyes slanted. He admired every little detail
about him. Well, he was known for being blunt, so he opened his mouth, "Ken, you know, I really
don't want to delete the Kensuke Files."
Ken glanced up, face unreadable, "Why?"
Daisuke got a little red in the face, "Because I kinda, well, like it."
Ken smirked, "Well, I guess I won't mind you not erasing it, but on one condition."
"What?"
"Take me out Friday night," Ken murmured, no trace of the smirk.
Daisuke stared at his friend. Did he really want to get into this? Was he ready to do this?
What if this was just a phase? Then again, Daisuke had never been the cautious one. "Okay," he
grinned, "And if it doesn't work out, we can still be friends."
Ken smiled, "Don't worry. I know it'll work out. We have proof." The two boys turned to the
computer screen. There on the screen were three words, the words that had started it all. The
Kensuke Files.
