*PLEASE READ THIS :)
Hey there! This is my very first fan fiction ever so if something doesn't make sense please tell me so I can correct it. I'm only 14 so I have no idea about businesses or anything like that and I'm only writing this because I think it makes sense. I also obviously changed a lot to the actual Naruto plot because I want to keep it "normal"
Anyway I hope you enjoy it. Please comment and tell me if there's anything I need to improve to the story. Sorry if this is a little short tell me if you want it longer. Thank you :)
There she was, walking down the aisle with her father right beside her. He looked at her in awe and jokingly whispered "you know it's not too late to back out, I'll run out with you" she smiled warmly
If only she thought
As she walked halfway towards the aisle tears started streaming down her face as she stared at the dark eyes of man who was her planned future, she stopped midway as she heard a certain young man's voice yell her name at the top of his lungs. She turned around slowly and saw a blonde haired boy standing by the towering doors. As he started running towards her, she picked up her puffy gown and made a run for it, she held her arms out desperate for him she was so close just one more step and her future would change in an instant...one more step…
RING…RING…RING
RING…RING…RING
RING…RING…RING
Hinata sat up covered in cold sweats as she moved her violet hair out of her face and buried her face in her pillow. She sat up in bed for a while staring into space before getting out of bed into the kitchen. She walked slowly into the kitchen immediately reaching for a mug to make a cup of coffee.
She then sat on a leather chair carefully, trying not to spill the coffee. She took a sip. She smiled. She could still remember in details 10 years ago on that day when her life changed forever…
Hinata had just turned 16; she felt like a whole new person, she didn't feel like that little girl who stuttered uncontrollably before. She was a woman now, and cheesy as it sounds, she felt like she could take on the world. She had gained a whole new level of confidence, although she would sometime fidget with her fingers like before. She was walking down the busy streets of Konoha with a bright smile, swinging her arms back and forth like a small child sucking a lollipop; she had just finished high school and was immediately accepted to the University of her Choice. She thought about all those years of hard work she had put in her work, all those all nighters she had pulled to make sure every single detail in her projects were perfect and most of all, all those pocket money she had saved by not going out! It was her day, nothing can ruin this.
Hinata walked down her street excited to tell Neji her good news. Even though Neji was her cousin, he felt like a brother to her; or more like a parent. Neji was a genius, he was born talented and he didn't even need to lift a finger in order to get a perfect 100 on his test, yet he worked harder than anyone she knew, he strived to be more than any of the expectations anyone had for him and that's why Hinata admired him. if it wasn't for Neji, Hinata wouldn't even be able to come this far.
Hinata opened the gate and entered the family house; more like a mansion. She looked around for Neji downstairs but couldn't, so thought he must have been in the study room, as usual. She carefully tiptoed towards him, wanting to surprise him.
"You got in didn't you?" Neji turned around, so much for the surprise
Hinata rubbed her chin suspiciously, of course he would know, I mean, it's Neji
After a few glares here and there hinata jumped on neji hugging him tightly.
"Oh Neji nii-san, I couldn't have made it without your help! Thank you" she said while tearing up.
"Hinata-sama I only did what I could" he smiled at her
Neji then remembered he was supposed to take her to her father when she came home. He didn't want to keep Hiashi waiting so he pulled her by the wrist, almost dragging, and led her to her Father's office.
As a child, Hinata used to love running around the house especially to her Father's lap as his office was always open, she used to spend a lot of time in there, as if it was her second bedroom, she used to always fall asleep on her mother's comfy chair on purpose just so her father could carry her upstairs. However, ever since her mother died, the office door would always be closed and her father would be very strict with this rule. She remembered vividly about the time where she opened the door without knocking and she saw her father sitting in the chair, she remembered the shouting, she remembered the tear, she remembered her old father. Hinata shook her head and reluctantly knocked on the towering door.
"enter"
Hinata remembered the time when her father's voice wasn't as stern, she opened the door, careful as to not slam it. She turned around to Neji who gave her a comforting nod.
"Yes father" she said with a gentle tone
"As you know, our business hasn't been going as smoothly…" he cleared his throat "so I would like to take this opportunity offered to move our business forward"
Finally! I've been waiting for this, a chance to prove myself not knowing what he had in store for her
"I want you to look at this as just a business deal, ok?" even though his views have changed since, she was till his daughter, his first born
"you've just turned 16..as you know" he cleared his throat "and as you know that's the age where you can get married with parents' consent" he mumbled
"I don't understand, what does this hav-" Hinata was interrupted
He didn't know how to say it to her directly, something rare for him to feel. He felt hurt and as if he was abandoning his own daughter but their business is all they had. Him and his precious wife had built this together, it was the only thing keeping her alive…
"Hinata, I would like you to get married to the successor of the Uchiha business company, Sasuke Uchiha" he said ashamed to make eye contact
Hinata was speechless, she knew her father would do anything for their business and anything for the sake of wellbeing of their family but the thought of an arranged married never even crossed her mind, she never thought he would do anything that cruel to anyone, let alone his own daughter.
"…" nothing would come out, she felt weak, she felt the sweats run down her face, she felt her knees wobble
No, n-not here she thought, she didn't want to look weak in front of anyone ever, especially her own Father
She struggled to step a step, she turned around and opened the door, she saw Neji walk towards her, but she wanted to be by herself, usually it would be Neji who made her feel calm and made everything better but not this time, she ran to the door aimlessly not knowing where to go. It was then that the tears started coming out, her vision was blurred but she ran regardless. She bumped into anyone and everyone, she didn't care anymore. She then found herself in a remote area of Konoha, she wondered around for the last hundred years for all she cared, she just followed where her legs would take her. She leaned against the wall and collapsed to the floor. She buried her face in her knees and she started crying again, surprised that it didn't all run out already.
She was all alone, something she has never felt since the death of her mother, something she swore she would never feel again. There was nobody there but a flickering lampose. She was still in shock, she tried thinking of reasons why her own father would abandon her like that. She started thinking but it hurt too much to. So she was just there stiff as a lifeless doll.
Then she heard a voice, she knew it would be Neji, it was always him. She didn't know what to say, she was too embarrassed to even look at him but she knew she had to, it was only Neji who could make her feel better, he was the only one who would be able to understand her so she lifted up her head, but it wasn't him, unless he grew shorter, started balding and split into two. Instead, there were two men heading towards her, they were obviously drunk as one of them started making out with the lampose. She could smell the alcohol. However, as she stood up, one of them pinned her to the wall.
"Hheeeyyyooo *hic* luvlyy lad- *hic" resting his head on her shoulders
"mmmmm, you smell so nice" said the other one, chatting up the lampose
Hinata felt like she couldn't do anything, she was trapped he had his filthy arms around her. She kicked, she puched, she bit but there was only so much she could do. It was odd that she was more hurt by the words her father told her than when the drunk man leaned against her. The complete opposite of what her mother would tell her sticks and stones would hurt you but never words.
Then all of a sudden, the great weight had been lifted from her, someone lifted the great weight from her. For a second she felt relieved but confused at what had happened. She then saw a young man floor him. His hair was like the sun, golden and spiky. He had the most outrageous clothes that she's ever seen; he had a big turtle bag pack hanging by his back. it didn't take very long for the drunk man to just fall asleep on the floor with his lampose buddy. He then turned around and though her vision was still a little bit blurry from crying, she could clearly see his face, he had piercing blue eyes, several scars on his face that looked like whiskers, he looked rough and tough yet he gave off the biggest grin to her. He had a very warm feeling to him.
Hinata found herself staring at him, that man had just saved her, as soon as she realized this, she turned her signature red face. She turned her head sideways as so he wouldn't see her face.
"ya hava fever miss?" he asked innocently
"I, uh, aha, yes, I meant…no, no I don't" she struggled to find words
"oh, alright, I'm Naruto Uzumaki by the way" he took no time introducing himself
" oh I'm Hinata Hyuuga, thank yo-" she was interrupted
"WOOAAHH, THE hyuuga?" as if he didn't know he just saved someone
HInata nodded shyly
" wow, you must have THE life must be perfect huh?" Naruto asked expecting a yes for an answer.
"…..uh, yeah" Hinata didn't think he needed to know, plus it's not like their ever gonna meet again right?
GROOWLL CHUURNN GROOWLL
Hinata heard naruto's stomach growl and thought the least thing she could do was treat him after he saved her right?
" u-uhmm Naruto-kun? Would you like to go get something? My treat!" Hinata offered with a big smile
"Wow really? Yeah sure lets go!" Naruto said excitedly
Naruto didn't need to think twice about eating ramen, especially free ramen. He led the way to his all-time favourite ramen place ichiraku ramen! He slid in first, followed by Hinata. Naruto asked for a large serving of miso ramen with roasted pork fillet so fast, even before Hinata could sit down. Hinata insisted on him eating as much as he can. Naruto feeling hungry, took the offer, no doubt. Hinata folded her napkin into her lap neatly and began eating. After she had finished her modest 1 bowl, naruto had a stack of ramen bowls to his left.
For a moment, she forgot her worries and problems. As it turned out, it wasn't just Neji who could make her feel even just a little bit better.
"well hinata-chan, I should probably get going now. I hope to see you soon though!" he scratched his head and gave her one of his killer smiles and walked away.
Just like that, he disappeared as quickly as he appeared the first time. After paying, she sat there for a minute trying to get her head around everything. She realised that she had just ran away and she didn't know what to tell her father. She stepped off the stool and made her way back to her house. She thought of endless excuses on why she can't get married but none was good enough, none was persuasive enough. Not like he would even consider changing his mind anyways. Then the image of naruto popped into her head and she found herself smiling like an idiot by herself.
On the other hand, Hiashi sat down on his wife's chair and carefully stroked the armchair, he knew his wife would never allow this to happen, but what choice did he have. Their business is falling off the top and there's no way to save it apart from the business collaboration with the uchihas. it was the only way to keep their business gong and to keep her alive.
Hinata reached the front gate of their house, she took a deep breath and marched into her father's office. She knocked but didn't bother waiting for an answer. She walked straight in. she wanted to finally stand up to her father, she wanted to finally be able to say what she wanted to him, she wanted to be able to say no.
"Fathe-" she paused
She saw her father holding the picture frame of when they were whole as a family, sitting in her chair. She was expecting him to be angry and more shouting. She moved closer to him, she had never seen his father like this since then, she never knew he still mourned her death, she never knew he even kept that picture of them in his office.
"F-father, I, uh, I decided to not get married…just because of a business deal" she broke off eye contact, she tried to not feel guilty especially looking at him in this state.
"Hinata, do you remember that time we went to grammy's house? When your mom was pregnant with hanabi?" he asked going completely off topic
Of course I remember, it was the first time we visited as a family
"I remember when I first introduced her that your grammy didn't want anything to do with your mom"
"but then as time went by, they became basically best friends because of the one thing they had in common, you"
"I remember them fighting for your affection, and you were only three" he chuckled to himself
"…" hinata felt confused and surprised at the same time "fath-"
"please hinata, please think about it, " Hiashi hugged Hinata
Hinata's eyes widened, he hasn't hugged her since she was three, his hugs still felt the same, he hasn't changed. She didn't want to let go, she missed him so much, she wanted him to stay like this, not just for her, but for hanabi too, for her at least she got to spend a few years of her childhood knowing this side of him, whereas hanabi didn't.
Hinata laid in her bed, she had a roller coaster of emotions that day. Although she was completely against it, she thought
What's the worst that could happen?
Phew! I finished my first one! Please comment and tell me anything I can improve. Sorry if it's a little short. Tell me if you guys want it longer. Thank you :)
