Alice's story

"I was riding across the Atlantic on the R.S.S Titanic. It was just me and my sister. My parents would meet us in America when they had enough money.

When night fell on April 14, Cara and I were asleep in third class. Suddenly, I woke up, and saw water on the floor. "Cara!" I shouted, waking her. The groggy six year-old opened her eyes, and saw the water.

"Alice?" she murmured. I picked her up, and rushed out of our small room, not even bothering to grab anything. Everyone was running around, screaming that they couldn't get out.

But I did. I rushed into first class, right as something exploded. I dropped Cara, and fell to the ground. They last thing I said on that ship was, "I'm sorry mom."

I thought I was dead. I wanted to be. Every part of me ached. Where was I? I opened my eyes, thinking that a thousand pounds of weight was on my head. I moan.

"Well, my sleeping beauty wakes up." A voice says from across the room. I turn my head, and then I wince, because it hurts so much. "Take it easy. That explosion nearly killed you."I realized he was southern. "Why did you save me?" I asked him. "Because I wanted to change you." Change me? Then I remember Cara.

"Where is Cara?" I asked. "The little girl? She was too burned. I couldn't save her even if I tried." The tears started to well up in my eyes. "Don't cry. After this, you will forget she even exists." He leans down, and bite's ,my neck.

"By the way, My name's Jasper."
