Death the kid looked at Maka Albarn. They had been good friends, but something didn't feel right with Kid these days. Whenever he looks at her, he blushes.
My dear friend what is this?
A new feeling came like mist.
He didn't mind it at first.
Kid, can I sit next to you? Maka asked.
Sure. He said.
Am I bothering you? She asked,
Kid thought for a second. He actually liked Maka there with him.
No, not at all. He said.
I love spending my time with you most.
Kid got pushed to side and hit his head pretty badly. Another strike was about to come from the enemy. Maka blocked it and got serious bruises. Black star defeated the enemy. All of them went to the infirmary.
Why did you do that? You could've been killed. Kid said worried.
I'll help you kid. You're important to me. Maka said. She smiled a little.
Kid found himself feeling that feeling again. What is this? He thought.
Thanks. He said smiling a little.
You help me at whatever cost.
Hi kid. Maka said.
Kid raised his head. He smiled. Hi Maka.
Thanks for coming with me. She said.
No problem. He said.
She took his hand. Let's go. She said smiling cutely.
He felt his heart skip a beat.
My friend every time we meet

Kid felt down that day. They lost some subordinates during the day. He felt as if it was his fault. Damn. He cursed. Kid, are you alright? Maka asked.
It's my fault they're gone. He said.
Maka thought for a second. MAKA-CHOP!
Kid rubbed his head, what was that for? He asked.
It's not your fault so please don't blame yourself. She said smiling a little.

Kid decided to ask Liz about this.
Liz, what is this? I get strange feelings around Maka. Kid asked.
Liz winced, what do you mean? Liz treated Kid like her younger brother; likewise he treated her like his older sister.
My face feels hot whenever I meet her, my heart beats faster; I love every little thing about her. I love spending my time with her and I find her comforting in my darkest moments. Kid said.
Liz raised an eyebrow. Well, what do you think of Maka?
Excuse me? Kid asked.
What do you think of her? She repeated. That got kid thinking for more than fifteen minutes. He had many thoughts about Maka.
I think, she's a great student, a wonderful meister and a kind friend. She is a good leader, understands people well. To me, she is very precious. He said.
That's it. You love her. Liz said.
Huh? Kid said.
You. Love. Her. Liz said.
I love her? Kid said in disbelief.
What, you love her and you didn't know? Liz said.
It's my first time experiencing this. Kid said, blushing a little.
Liz smiled and patted his head. You're growing up Kid. She said.
They went to school the next day. Kid found himself loving Maka more and more.
Day by day I grow fonder of you
And I know my heart is speaking true
Time passed until it was Kid's birthday.
Happy birthday Kid. Maka said handing him a gift. He opened it and saw a skull bracelet. Thanks. He said. Then, he leaned closer and closer until he kissed Maka's cheek.
Maka blushed. What was that for? She asked.
A return gift. He said. He understood everything clearly.
