A/N: Hey guys. Here is a little short story I wrote. I know it's not very good, but I hope you enjoy it anyway. Please favorite and review if you liked it~ :3

"I like you."

Those were the words that changed Belarus' life. Those three words coming from America's mouth one day after a World Conference.

The conference hadn't gone in her favor, so to speak. Russia pushed her away once again. But this time he told her that he'd never return her feelings. That he was gay. He had said it all very loudly, successfully capturing the other Nations attention. It was the day she had run out of the Conference room, the realization finally sinking into her mind. Of course she always knew that. Of course she hadn't cared. She loved her siblings. Especially Russia. She just wanted to keep him to herself and for him to return that same love. She knewthat would never happen, but she stuck to that belief like glue. So now she sat slumped against a wall, a few hallways away from the Conference room. She stared down at her hands clenched in her lap. Tears beginning to trickle down her cheeks. Natalya Arlovskaya never cried. She made people cry. But her tough exterior was beginning to crumble around her and she couldn't do anything to stop it. The Nation hadn't noticed another figure coming to stand next to her. A hand laid gently on her shoulder and the figure sat down next to her. She refused to look at them, shrugging off the hand. How pathetic for her to cry! Belarus hoped that whoever it was would get the message and leave her alone. Her hopes were crushed when the other spoke.

"I like you." A familiar male voice spoke from next to her. Her eyes widened and she turned her head to face America. The other Nation smiled lightly at her. His face softened when he saw the tear tracks on her cheeks and just how depressed she looked. Belarus narrowed her eyes.

"You don't really mean what you say." She scowled.

"What makes you think that?" America asks, his eyes never leaving her. "I actually..liked you for awhile but thought you hated me." He admited.

"I...I don't hate you. I don't know why but I just can't." She mumbled. "Though I have always thought you were an idiot."

"Hm..most people think so. Then again they don't really know me." He grinned. "I'm a genius!" The Belarusian scoffed, rolling her eyes, and wiping them with the sleeve of her dress. She oddly felt better than before. Not nearly as...alone as she had felt. They chatted for awhile like that. But eventually it had to come to an end at the moment. The Conference was over and the building would be closing.

"America?"

"Yeah?"

"Thanks.." She leaned over and quickly kissed his cheek.

"Heh, no problem! It's the Hero's job to cheer up pretty women!" America chuckled, a very light blush on his cheeks. This caused Belarus to roll her eyes.
