From This Moment On.
Summary: What if's tend to plague those whom have more than one lifetime to dwell on mistakes. But what if those mistakes were more useful than one would think. ONESHOT.
Disclaimer: I do not own True Blood, or any part of the Southern Vampire Series.
Notes: This is my first work of fanfiction, so I do believe that it would be wise to make it just a one shot. Also reviews are more than welcome.
Blood staining his porcelain face. Eric had his hands almost covering the sorrow in his eyes. A slight click could be heard from the hotel room door. But he payed no mind to it. At that point nothing could stir him from the void that was handed down to him. The only thing on his mind was; what if he had know of his maker's plans to go to the Fellowship. What if he had know his maker had lost any interest in life. What if's could be the ending of him if he could let it.
Eric never noticed the person standing in front of him until he felt warmth on his shoulders. Two delicate hands were now on him; he could feel his muscles tense from the touch. It was never his intention to let anyone see him in the state. But again he never imagined being this way either.
A low sigh escaped her red tinted lips. All words that Sookie could think of for that moment were lost to her. She went to kneel in front of Eric. Adjusting her dress under to go under her knees. Sookie looked up at Eric. Slowly grasping his hands into her own. Her eyes spoke the words that her mouth failed to form. The pain that he felt deep inside his heart was written all over his face. The blood that stained his cheeks spoke volumes of a love that she could never fathom. One thousand years was something she would never like to feel. But here it was, looking at her like a she was one of the few that he had left on this plane of existence.
"I can imagine you making him smile." Eric finally spoke. But when he did it was words that broke Sookie's heart.
"You stood with him, as he met the sun. The only thing in this world that I could not give him. You gave it to him." He looked down at her.
"I would do it again in a heart beat."
"From this moment on, Sookie Stakehouse. You hold special place in my unbeating heart." Eric leaned down and wrapped his arms around Sookie. Nuzzling into the soft side of her neck, He felt content in feeling her heartbeat on his lips.
