"NO! Sirius… NO!" Lily's exasperated scream filled the small kitchen.

"Oh, come on Lily. I'm going to be godfather, aren't I? Can I at least choose Prongs Jr's name?"

"NO! You are, in Merlin's name, NOT NAMING MY CHILD ELVENDORK! I don't care if it's unisex!" Her voice was shrill.

"Oh, but it'd be so much simpler! Then you'd only have to come up with one name, instead of two!"

Lily was practically seething. Her emerald green eyes seemed to be on fire. He coughed.

"Erm… middle name?"

When Lily next spoke, her voice was scarily quiet.

"No." She drew her wand. Sirius stared fearfully at the willow aimed at him. Lily could hex him up one side and down the other in a heartbeat if she wanted too. The fire in her eyes appeared to change to match the natural colour, green. He gulped.

"Lily, do I want to know why it looks like you're about to kill Sirius?" James asked, as he stepped from the fireplace, having just flooed home.

"He. Wants. To. Name. Our. Child." She said through clenched teeth. "Our Child!"

"Erm, what does he want to name it?" James asked, unsure.

"Tell him," she snarled.

"Mate, remember the great times we used to have—"

"Sirius."

"I'm getting—" he then remembered the wand still pointed directly at his head. "El- Elvendork." He paused. "It… er, it seemed like a good idea at the time." He laughed nervously. "I… I was only joking, Lily. Really." Lily lowered her wand a few inches. "It's just that when James… James and I were younger, we used to get… get in small spots… spots of trouble, with the muggle police." He paused, still nervous. "And we had this joke we always did…" Lily narrowed her eyes appraisingly, as though to detect if the man was lying or not. Quickly swallowing, he continued. "It's a joke, Lily, honest."

"I really think you ought to let him go, Lil." James said through near-silent laughter.

"You think this is a LAUGHING MATTER?" Lily rounded on her husband this time.

"N- no, not at all!" he stuttered.

"How about Harry?" Sirius piped up. "That's a nice name."

"It is," she said thoughtfully. "That's your grandfather's name, isn't it, James?" she lowered her wand and he nodded. "Boys, I'm going to go have a lie down. Please try and not ruin the house." As she retreated up the stairs, Sirius grinned.

"Score one for Padfoot," he said quietly.

James punched him.

"You do remember we did that last week, right mate?"

"Yeah," Sirius said with a shrug, rubbing his arm where James had hit him. "That's not to say we didn't do it when we were younger." There was silence as James considered this.

"Elvendork?"

Sirius opened his mouth to reply, but a shriek came upstairs from Lily before he could say anything.

"IT?!"

A/N: This popped into my head after reading Jo's prequel. At 3 in the morning. (That's when it popped in, not when I read the story) I have to say that the story is great, if you haven't already read it you need too -- Because basically it confirms James' character... And he's really rather amazing! lol
